Nobody, LITERALLY NOBODY said that space marine candidates are selected based on their resemblance to their Primarch. Take your thong-wearing race bait and go farm for clowns somewhere else

marines recruit from feral worlds. im sure its a whole wonderful tapestry of culture out there in the hostile 40k galaxy that knows only war

i am not shure if it works that way, i mean unless my source was wrong i think the salamanders for example have thair charcoal black skin because of the planet they get thair recruits from

The process of creating a space marine starts with a human and with the ultra-marines recruiting from multiple planets a little genetic diversity is entirely possible. The ultra-marines aren't like the salamanders who's skin turns charcoal black and eyes turn red as part of the process.

If memory serves, the way geneseed should work he should have some of his genefather's features, and some of his own. For example, eyes, hair, bone structure, any of these could and some of them should resemble Guilliman. Skin color should actually be one thing that changes frequently with some exceptions like the ravenguard and salamanders, since those two chapters have the same misfunctional gene that would normally adjust their skin color to the amount of radiation they're exposed to. Effectively, space marines cannot get sunburnt normally.

I need to inform you that, being a soft sci-fi series, there's no relationship between almost anything happening in 40k and the laws of nature.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This is incorrect. There are rules in every setting. For example in 40k the ultra smurfs can never lose, ever.

Real question: Why does nobody ask this question about mister Alpine Titus with black hair and steel-grey eyes?

I didn't say there are NO rules, I said the rules AREN'T the "laws of nature" by a long stretch.

i not a space marien fan i more of a sisters of battle but just to point this out for you all

The race or skin has nothing to do with gene seed compatibility and worthiness of a normal human turning into an Astartes. The only exception are the Salamanders, but mostly because they literally turn charcoal black (or whatever the name of the color is) due to a gene mutation.

the Luna Wolves/Sons of Horus were considered weird because that was happening, so if anything this may be a legit case of "the exception that proves the rule."

Unless there is a problem in their geneseed (geneseed being the name of the genetic augmentation a space marine get), they look like they were before they became space marine.
Also, Ultramarine recruit on their home system, they have several worlds and likely climates similar to our earth, giving peoples living there similar colored skin as what you would find on earth.
