Space marine 2 wont detect my controller

!POSSIBLE XBOX CONTROLLER SOLUTION!

For reference I have an S2 Xbox Elite Controller and this allowed to play the game with back paddles and all, fully functional with a wired connection but I am sure Bluetooth would work too.

managed to get my controller working reliably for the time being using this method, a bit of faff but better than nothing for those who don't have a PS5 controller at hand.

'you need to (on steam) go to game options (cog wheel then Manage) and then go to "Controller" the disable the "Steam Input" settings. Then before opening the game unplug / turn off your keyboard. When your in the game you can connect it again.

Very similar to older games but the game seems to only read the primary input device at the time of launch (at first) then once your in the game you can happily switch between keyboard and moue or controller as long as you don't unplug the controller.'

Not working for me either, using a plugged in PS5 controller. Steam recognizes the controller but the game won't. I've tried enable/disable Steam Input too. Sigh,

Just straight up leave steam input disabled and it worked on my elite series 2 ( xbox )

SO... disable steam input and restart the game, then shift tab to open steam overlay while the game is booted up the go to controller move your analog stick so steam overlay detects your controller then close steam overlay... worked for me, hope it works for you. I can’t get controller to work on SM 2 on STEAM LINK. I can navigate steam menus and all, but not in game. Tried both PS5 and Xbox1 controllers. Any one had this?

Disabled steam input, both Duelsense and wired Xbox controllers, then worked, for me.

Thanks. Kind of bad Saber gated this behind an EA release window, then couldn't even have this feature working smoothly.

For my Dual Sense Edge controller I tried disabling steam input, using big picture mode, disconnecting the keyboard, and kept a wired connection from day one. But it will not work. My Dual Shock 4 however works great from day one. I use it with the wireless adapter. I would really like to try the game with the DS5 features. My regular DS won't work either.

used this but had to re-enable steam input and it started working
