Considering the game just released? Not a huge amount of info for that.
From playing the first game, it kind of just drops you into the lore and world. If you didn't know anything about it beforehand, you may be a little confused.
Whoever told you that was a liar. The first game is one of the best 40k games ever and I literally have every single one.
Not sure if bait but ill bite. Its combat was kickass, the multiplayer was amazing too in its heyday, no doubt they all jumped on here now.
Storywise, it's prob not too important. Story is good but pretty simple. Watch the cutscenes. You could probably get away with just watching the final sequence to be basically familiar with Titus' situation at the start of SM2.
