Getting around 90c.

Looks like this game is boosting the processor from 4.5GHZ to over 5.5GHZ constantly for some reason (other games boost to around 4.7 - 4.8). Undervolting -30 and setting the throttle temp to 85 helped a bit, but it's still an issue.

At least the devs admitted in their latest post that they're working on the overheating issue and basically told all the "BUT MIII PC IS F1N3 U N33D BETA PC" to stfu

FPS capped to 60 and it still heats up the CPU, lowered down several graphics settings (as I do not assumed to run it on high anyway). I don't know with which instruction set they compiled this game, but this is one of the few and rare one, that I consider try to actively destroy your hardware due to u unnecessary power consumption. This is not related to the Intel issue one may have been reading about in the last weeks (my CPU is from the generation before, but mind, I can run other games from the same release time just fine).

13 and 14th gen i7 and i9 are going to hit 70c+ on this game. Period. It actually has multi-threading. Which most games do not. I am nearly positive they are using it for the horde AI and background ai processes.

Keep in mind, if you see differences between people in this thread, ambient temp plays a huge role. If you ambient room temp is 20 and theirs it 30, there will be a ~10 degree difference in your CPU temp too....

But yes, this game is ALMOST akin to rendering. It is actually insane. They should probably have some sort of CPU useage cap or something.

I almost guarantee this game is going to cause PS5 problems for those who have dusty old PS5s.

They do but if you know how to undervolt and set your own bios settings you can keep it under 60 C like my temps at 80-90 fps. Tho many users just use auto settings which are awful.

yep i7 13700k 70-80 Max 90 WTF

okay but what about the menu? if it's constantly running like this from as soon as you load into the mentu to when you do missions, why should it be using so much resources for some text?

The real question is should we believe Intel when they said this about modern CPU'S

''They really like to run hot. If you are getting in the 90 degree range for normal use that is perfectly fine. Intel has public said that you can run these chips at 100 degrees constantly and it will not damage them. Seem the actual limit is something like 130''
Komskikru96 Sep 5, 2024 @ 1:09pm
same, i have I9 14900k 80-95c
Flexxo Sep 5, 2024 @ 1:09pm
mine are 74 - 80 but at times jumps to 85 tops
tho crazy high
Delaborga Sep 5, 2024 @ 1:09pm
84 temp , so yeah crazy high

NOCTUA NHU 12A Chromax Black here, not a problem, never been until now with this game and this game alone. I mean read this tread, I am far from being the only one and most people complaining about this do have pretty good PC's, so no.

Isnt this just because its one of those rare games where even a high end cpu bottlenecks and those can heat up, was there a similar issue with dragon dogma 2.
