Game will not start
Downloaded the game no problem. However, every time i try to run it the screen goes black and my mouse just does the circle loading animation. If i click anything at all it tells me that the game is not responding and to either wait for it to respond or close the program.

good to know it aint just me, but sad to know that means it is a prevailing issue for multiple people. Wondering if it is caused by either the EAC or antivirus software

It might be compiling shaders or something, let it sit for a bit.

There is a shaders cache option in Steam I had to disable to get No Man's Borefest going at first. Enabled it after game got past first loadup.
Try upgrading the process priority to HIGH.
Run as Admin on .exe?
Verify files?

If it truly is on the devs side, do they even test?? Be pretty pathetic to force people to pay more for early access only for that access to not work. SMH

Similar issue. It just...loads up, gets to a blackscreen, which for some reasons moves from my main monitor to my secondary, and then it just...stops.

I can alt-tab out of the game menu, and move the mouse pointer around, but the menu will not load - it's just a black screen as well.

Try setting your resolution to 1080p and see if it loads

For some reason it keeps crashing when I try opening it in 1440p or higher, but 1080p works

You can then change the resolution after you are in game

I don't know if it's shaders compiling while the screen is dark and it just went away, but after five unsuccessful restarts, running as administrator helped me

so i figured out the issue. for me at least. I use Bitdefender. I had to add an excepion for this game and it magically worked

That an antivirus? Usually a firewall (windows) will ask when a program wants through, maybe the prompt is not coming up which would require the user to make an exception through the firewall.

I would imagine the game is attempting to authenticate to their servers upon startup.

I haven't used antivirus in MANY years, its bloatware and with UAC I find it unnecessary. If you as a user DO have it, then making an exception there could be required too.

just the game exe? This could be my issue as well but I'll have to see after verifying files.

Weird issue, but this worked for me. Thanks for sharing!

ok yeah the bitdefender thing worked. Yeah to anyone having this issue and uses a 3rd party antivirus, this could be your problem.
Vay Mnemon Sep 5, 2024 @ 9:44am
Restarted Steam.
Restarted System.
Updated Drivers.

My firewall is not 3rd Party.
Still can't figure out why it flips to my secondary monitor before crashing.
Running out of options.
Open to suggestions.
