The thousand sons... are they...
....not so bad?

I mean, they seem to care about knowledge and stuff, it doesn't seem really an evil road to walk on. What do they do that is "evil"?

Could someone, i don't know, offer them a book and study with them?

if i remember right they were mostly extremely naive and as a result most of them were tricked rather than going into chaos with eyes open.

other than that, many of the things chaos is about aren't inherently evil, but become so when taken to extremes.

Yeah but really. What do they do? Korne blows stuff up and rips spines. Slaanesh corrupts and changes and rapes and such. Nurgle, who everyone says he's the nicest of the bunch, gifts you ebola and gonorrhea for breakfast if you're lucky.

The thousand sons and tzeenwatchamakallit what do they do?

Thousand Sons fell because of there fathers Naivety, he took a a gift from the warp and sold his Soul and the Souls of his sons.

it's all going according to plan.

but yeah it's a bit less in your face than the others. though becoming a chaos spawn if you mess up is a pretty bad outcome.

the plans of tzeentch are unfathomable even to the other dark gods. his pawns play their part, he is ambition, he is creativity, he pulls a thread on every living thing practically. one could be acting to do the most good just as magnus's second did, tzeentch twisted his view, made him paranoid. all to create another pawn in a different way to see how it plays out. When he did something absurd, he stopped magnus from killing him. magnus doesnt know why.

such is why tzeentch is the master of a thousand and one plots.

There are as bad if not worse than Nurgle. Everything with them is wickedness and snares, no one understands the true motives of Tzeentch's minions. They may have accumulated a lot of knowledge, but they can't understand what it will lead to.

Ahriman had a very interesting exchange with some humans during the war on Terra in the Emperor's library talking about whether they had a choice about all of it. Make of it what you will, and if you'll ever read the "Horus Heresy" you'll understand that in this universe good and evil don't really align the way it's commonly working in other narratives. This universe is made so anybody can find appeal in each faction/character's motivations and choices, whether it's Chaos, Traitor Legions, Loyalist Legions, the Xenos or the Imperium of Man, or the Emperor himself.

I usually like the eldars. Functionally immortal, great artists, great passions, emotions on an entirely different level than humans, and if left alone they seem the most advanced and peaceful society.

On second place i would put a paradise planet of mankind, some agricultural worlds that are rich and not a horror movie by themselves.

But if i had a choice, Eldar are the best society and race to live as, i think, in a "peace is possible" scenario.

In their actual "die and you become a snack" it's not so nice.

I would honestly like if the more reasonable factions of the imperium, the more reasonable eldars, and perhaps the tau farseer unite and create an actually nice place/nation/faction where people can actually hope to be happy and without injustice.
