Besides, lets be real, most players are going to spend all their time in the co-op and pvp experiences which are designed to be re-playable.
I feel like this is a nothing-burger. o_O
Never pre order games, this has been proven a right move since years now.
I felt like it was a tedious 32 hour game that could have been an exception 12 hour game. :P
You kids lost in hours count, and miss the "what do I get" in those hours. Think of one night with the girl of your dreams or 10 years of okish marriage your dream girl bestfriend.
It`s all about the emotin.
Wanna grind, there`s ton of souless repetative open world grinders. I`m here for the one hell of adventure.
PS: there are good singleplayer games within 20-30 hrs mark (last of us part 2 or god of war), but they`re unicorn in todays industry standarts.
Good example is game vanquish - you can beat in 3 or 4 hrs, but damn those will be best hours of your life if you like action games. RE remakes beatable in 2-5 hrs, are those game bad? Hell no!
Umm give me the 10 years of marriage please. Also I can buy my dream girl for a night for $2,000..... if I could get a wife for 10 years for $2,000 out of pocket, that would be some awesome 10/10 value right there. Mine cost me about $160,000 and she was out of there in 3 1/2 years.
Popular opinion: even better play the OG game and have a blast for 40-80 hours.
Actually what I'm doing atm on Duckstation. Just about to leave Midgar.
Was looking around for "and games with decent playtimes coming out.... nope.. back to PS1 lol.
I mean think about it, if you game heavily.. a 6 hour game at $60 would be like spending $420 to $840 a week on games... that's silly.
The majority if your playtime is meant to be spent in the re-playable co-op and PvP modes. Most players are only going to play the campaign once or twice. ;)
Also, comparing the playtime-length of a high-fidelity action shooter to an old-school RPG doesn't seem like a fair comparison. ;)
