I've always had FPS nausea problems even in the primordial days of Wolfenstein 3-D, Doom and Duke Nukem 3D, but I don't feel like 3rd person shooters were any motion sickness issue for me until multi-platform titles became prevalent. Though it could just be my brain morphed from my late 20s days playing the first FPS to my now late middle age days when I can't seem to play anything but top-down/isometric due to nausea issues.
Anyway I did get Gold edition last night and got through the tutorial with no motion sickness issues. I thought maybe the camera view being so far (in a good way imho) back from the player's character model and not "zoomed in on top of it" ala Gears of Wars, The Division etc. might alleviate my nausea problems.
But in the first campaign mission after our squad hit the ground and we started running around, dreaded nausea started. And now that i"m at the 116-minute mark I have to decide if I want to risk getting stuck with an $89.99 (Gold edition) title that I can't get comfortable playing. i wish the FOV setting was in just so I could see if it made any difference (or not).
For fear of making this thread go pear shaped, I will stay cool as a cucumber and say it's no longer my cup of tea. I played for a bit but ended up brown bread. Really should have spent the bread and honey, but the cows and kisses would have kicked me in the khyber pass.
I'm aussie by the way and mad as a cut snake.
Works well

And yes, unfortunately I am also a person who gets motion sickness. Apart from the fact that it's just stupid NOT TO BE ABLE TO SEE ANYTHING because your vision is so restricted.

This is unacceptable
