Will there be an upgrade option to the Gold or Ultra Edition after release?

I received the Standard Edition as a gift from a friend, but I haven't seen any news about upgrading to the Gold or Ultra editions. Right now, if I try to buy those editions, it counts as another copy of the game.Will they eventually offer these "upgrades" separately or perhaps include them in a season pass expansion?

Did your friend get the standard edition too? If not you are going to get a 4 day jump on him.
If he got a Gold+ edition and gave you a base edition. You need new friends XD

The question isn't about the option to play 4 days early; it's about getting extra content (like the season pass and other benefits).

Gold, most likely yes as it's the "season pass" edition. Pretty much 100% on that one. Ultra they have explicitly stated you will NOT be able to (you can google the quote or it's in other threads on the forum).

Ultra HAS to be bought with that edition. You know how companies are though... a year down the road they may offer it, who knows.

In other words, yes, y'all be able to buy the season pass later, no, you won't ever be able to get the Ultra cosmetic without that edition. And you cannot "upgrade" to it.

Kind of messed up since I got the game free with CPU. I want to upgrade to ultimate edition. Hopefully a friend will buy this key off me, so I can get Ultimate.

What are you referring to? It's exactly as I described...

I think you misunderstood what I was saying... you could upgrade to the Gold Edition (ie BUYING the season pass after the fact). And as I said, you HAVE to buy the Ultra edition if you want the ONE extra skin.

Otherwise I have no clue what you're saying.

Thanks fluxion, makes sense on what you saying, as I myself was looking to see if I could purchase that champion pack separately. Unfortunately as companies are, we probably won’t get that option until much later if ever. Thank you again for the clarification :)

In my case my friend bought me the base and my other friend bought me the season pass.

It was very confusing until I saw ultramarine cosmetic is something you get with the pass but ultramarine champion is exclusive to the ultra edition.
