Is this game always online or can it be played solo of line?

it can be played solo for the campaign, the pve elements can be played offline, but progression rewards will not sync. so technically yes its always online.

Campaign can be played offline, but PVE mode is online only as your char is saved on their server

Sick of what crap? The single player is offline. If you want to play coop you kinda need to be online.

playing the campaign offline should be a no brainier for any game that has one the thing i am truly sick off is that thy lock off gear and levels to a forced online mod that you need to play with other people to get anywhere in levels

I’m pretty sure you can play the pve mode offline too, it just doesn’t have progress when offline. The developers confirmed that

I have absolutely no stake in this fight, however I would like to make some points. Strauss Zelnick, publisher for take-two, put the idea of "pay by the hour" into everyone's heads. They may not be the first to do this, but a fact of pay by the hour, it's going to require always online interaction. Really, how long will it take for the industry to require you pay 70 dollars to get the "base game" which yea has the campaign that you can play, but no unlocks, no secret levels, no bonuses, nothing extra. Oh but if you want all that just go buy the dlc and pay to play online with your friends! Just compare the stats between payday 2 and payday 3. Right now, nobody wants this to be the standard. Let it go on without issue, and it's a guarantee, we won't have a choice.
