Heavy - I don't get the tubes... they serve no purpose on a Heavy Bolter
Heavy Bolters are Belt Fed, not Drum Mag compatible. Those tubes have no purpose, other than "aesthetics", but they look bizarre. Where's the giant ammo backpack with the belt? So weird...

The tubes make sense on the Plasma Accelerator. It's a plasma cannon. Power Pack to Cannon power tubes makes sense there.

I dunno what they were thinking with this design :/

"aesthetics", well done you answered your own question

could be an electrically driven ammo feed and trigger group like the M61 Vulcan

Heavy bolters can be either drum fed or belt fed. They're multiple models of heavy bolter.
Lots of weapons use electric motors to power things like auto loaders or a a higher tech belt feeder, this design choice also extends from units on the table top like Heavy Intercessors, Paragon Warsuits and Sternguard Veterans all of which use more sophisticated versions of the heavy bolter when compared to the rest of the wider imperium as such it can be assumed some form of assist with chambering or loading the round into the heavy bolter is present due to these cables.

I never even noticed that... I played tabletop like..... 13 years ago... and never even saw that. I saw models with belt-feed tubes going from a heavy pack to the heavy bolter all over though lol

Interesting...
1. It looks cool as ♥♥♥♥
2. IIRC they're power delivery tubes (I assume they're wires inside conduit tubes basically). If you notice, they're attached to the Power Pack of the Heavy's Gravis Armor, which is where their Power Armor actually gets it's power and therefore is where the weapon is getting power as well. Imagine like how a Minigun needs (essentially) a car battery to actually spin up, the Heavy Bolter needs to be connected to a power source for it to properly function.

It just looks weird to me. I'm used to seeing a belt feed and a huge ammo pack. I'm not saying it doesn't work.

Just saw them for the first time in action and wow, they are extremely goofy. Should have left them out tbh. Won't even be able to mod them out thanks to EAC.

It's to link the helmet's opticarium sequencer with the weapoon's stercus ocular.

Heavy Bolters operate differently to other bolt weapons. Instead of a firing pin physically striking the bolt shell to activate the projectile, a specific electronic pulse is applied in the firing chamber. Bolts are fed into the chamber by an electric motor, rather than exhaust gases cycling the action as in other Bolt weapons. Exhaust gases are only used to generate the power needs of the weapon; the initial power and the impulse for the first round are provided by working a slide on the weapon's side. These features enable the Heavy Bolter to maintain rates of fire that are physically impossible for a standard boltgun

The machine spirits demand tubes, so it is done.
