Be honest with yourselves - SM2 is not that great...
Roadmap is that of a typical tier system of releases by a AAA dev.
Combat is mid with animations/gore as distraction to trick you into how 'fun' the combat is... because it's not.

I don't think it has the legs unless you're a die hard.

People are just looking for that next thing as usual.

Helldivers combat and entire gameplay loop is superior in every way.

I mean your not wrong, SM2 I was really lookin forward to but the combat was a huge flop for me. Every game I have ever played has more enjoyable combat than SM2.

Well that's what I'm saying, Its nothing new, nothing different to what we ALL haven't played a million times before, unless you're just getting into gaming now.. And I have Most Warhammer 40K games, and I look at this as oh ok more hordes, at least fighting the orks they were funny to fight, SM2 is bugs........ Really, Even the the huge bugs are just swinging Massive blades and are bullet sponges.. Orks also had mechs, Would be awesome if it was the necrons too.. And where are the other armies that are more of a threat and were present in and around most battles?? nope just bugs..

Just a continuation of historical patterns. Action oriented 40K titles are mediocre at best and mobile crapp quality at their worst. The more strategic and tactical games usually tend to fare better.

It's sad cuz space marine 1 was really fun. But this lines up with modern GW as always
it is what you expect from a game called Space Marine 2. If you enjoyed the first one you'll be enjoying this one. It's got shiner graphics, some QoL adjustments but it's still Space Marine.

Only idiots thinking it's something it never said it was that likely never played the first game compared it to Helldivers 2. THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT GAMES.
Oh yea I'm aware that it's a very different game, never expected it to be the same. But from what I've seen of SM2, mind you I'm comparing it to SM1, it's an overall downgrade\watering down.

That and honestly, between that, GW pulling the ♥♥♥♥ they pulled lately, and people going into helldivers' based communities to shove SM2 down our ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ throat, I do not want it and have no interests in getting it. Let SM2 burn
helldivers you endlessly run away from enemies. space marine you endlessly run towards them

thats the difference
Looks far more cinematic, there are battles, laser fire, swarms of nids going off in the background. HD2 feels empty compared to SM2, less so on bot side. Bot side can get quite cinematic have to give credit where due.

The parry system looks great reminds me of FF7 remake, a perfect parry will result in a sync kill, while staggering larger enemies. HD2 has nothing like this. On the subject of sync kills just like in SM1. They look sick and also heal the marine making it core gameplay, devs rewarding sync kills, very smart.

Ragdoll is something that you as a mighty Space marine will be dishing out not the other way round! AH have all this ragdoll and yet won't give divers any form of protection even with heavy armor. Bunch of complete morons!

Most games i played offer forms of stun resist after being stunned, diminishing returns or something to alleviate the issue but AH have nothing!
I own starship troopers, space marines 2, and helldivers. I can tell you for a fact helldivers is the best pick of the three.

SST is great solid pick with the new upgrades and future update

SM2 its a lazily done console port to pc. all kinds of crashing and control problems. not worth the price tag it should be $30-40 for the standard edition. also lacks variety in everything except the marine armor color sets.

HD2 I have mindlessly put in nearly 600 hour of gameplay and I still enjoy playing the game. it has a lot of satisfying moments. the devs just need to put out some wins from their balance team and finally start putting out more content. once this stagnation is behind us it will grow again.

Biggest issue of SM2, is the weapons have no impact.

A Bolter fires a shell that is as big as a gun in helldiver's 2, yet the enemies that take the hits, act like nothing happened (Minus horde enemies.) The melee is atrocious to watch as it also has no impact and the sound design is absolutely all over the place. Not to mention it is short and lacking content (Hilarious for the price tag.) And basic features are on their roadmap, such as DLSS3 and ultra wide support lol. The game should of been delayed till spring when their horde mode is being released, but they wanted those holiday bucks.

I've noticed this watching the gameplay, but I guess it looks that way because nobody has their stuff fully upgraded yet.

Still, if that's the case - I personally would prefer starting off with a boltgun feeling like a boltgun, and then being upgraded to something truly awesome, instead of the boltgun feeling like a whitedogpoogun, and being upgraded to... a boltgun.

More like a Maoist guerilla insurgency. And some of the loudest voices claim that hit and run while waiting for stratagems to cool down is peak skillz even as it approaches zombie apocalypse population count.

All I hear is whining that one player can't solo a horde that's meant to be killed by 4 players.
Sweatdivers tend to be the ones bragging about aceing 9 or 10 solo.
Gargoyle swarms aren't enemies from what I've seen.

Do you ever fight gargoyles like rippers? Big miss if not.

I haven't played it but from what I've seen.

The Game looks like a Slower Hybrid of God of War (The New ones) and Remnant From the Ashes.

The Hardest Difficulty looks just straight up unfun and boring, seemingly the lazy route of Difficulty taken where the enemies are Sponges and you are Glass.
Sounds like a skill issue lol

Both games run fine, that usually comes down to individual rigs.

HD2 surely does not run "fine". It might be the worst PC port after jedi survivor and dragons dogma.

Games are software first and foremost, and atm SM2 looks like software that is years ahead in all aspects, both visually and technically
I can't take this seriously after you said... sm2 looks years ahead both visually and technically... which is patently false.

The game runs more than FINE actually - i have no issues most settings maxed and game looks amazing especially with explosions going off. How the game plays and what it looks like comes down to an individual's rig - PERIOD.

I know so many people complaining about every new release because their 10 year old PC can't run it on max... makes no sense...

HD2 immersion is fantastic, especially during hectic combat with strategem call ins.

You could play the EXACT same map, EXACT same mission and several things could make it feel like a completely different experience:
weather
lighting
enemy type
loadout
solo / team play

I don't think any game will capture what HD2 offers for a while...The only cope around here is those defending space marine 2 - which looks like copy paste AAA garbage. I played it, returned it - without hesitation. It does not have the legs.

4 players struggle with hordes thanks to charger BT and now impaler spam. even running optimized groups with lots of red call ins. at least on d10.

if you are chillin on D5 good for u
mate Space marine 2 has performance issues and network issues with coop as well as a short campaign but the fact that you morons really sat there and tried to compare the current state of this sorry ass game to SM2 is crazy. Like hey look at our turd its less smellier.

Shills be shilling, playing some sweat fest spas shooter and calling it immersive, its like you guys are allergic to fun.

It's not , and if we can't agree on that there is nothing else to say, because you are here with an agenda. I have a pair of eyes.

Helldivers might be the most technically ugly game i played lately, and it doesnt even have working AA or upscaling in 2024. There is nothing to debate
Non functioning eyes. Ignore what you see but hey maybe your rig cant provide
