The Game looks like a Slower Hybrid of God of War (The New ones) and Remnant From the Ashes.
The Hardest Difficulty looks just straight up unfun and boring, seemingly the lazy route of Difficulty taken where the enemies are Sponges and you are Glass.
That sounds familiar...
A Bolter fires a shell that is as big as a gun in helldiver's 2, yet the enemies that take the hits, act like nothing happened (Minus horde enemies.) The melee is atrocious to watch as it also has no impact and the sound design is absolutely all over the place. Not to mention it is short and lacking content (Hilarious for the price tag.) And basic features are on their roadmap, such as DLSS3 and ultra wide support lol. The game should of been delayed till spring when their horde mode is being released, but they wanted those holiday bucks.
At some point everyone has seen every possible iteration of everything across all games, the only difference are the textures...
All you can do is try to "improworse" it by trying to cater to the loud minority...
Generally, the COMBAT alone in space marine 2 is boring. That's all it takes for me. It doesn't help that there are so many options out there too.
The intense hectic combat, calling in stratagems, the entire atmosphere is just superior in every way possible... and that stuff is even better before you talk about gameplay loop -- of course depending on what difficulty you enjoy.
That's how little I care about it.
Especially after seeing the original was short in single player and horribly repetitive in the multiplayer.
But, but...I must consoom and get ready for next product to consoom!
As for HD2 vs SM1 which is a comparison I can make since I played both extensively. The combat is better in SM1 but the overall gameplay loop is better in HD2.
The problem with HD2 is that the feedback and sound of most of the weapons are absolutely pathetic and there are a lot of weapons that suffer from the idiotic wind up mechanic which is the worst way to moderate DPS.
Of course when you take the overall experience with gems into account, HD2 wins.
