But I'm getting used to this one, and after going over some tech problems and frustrating MP loses, I'm starting to enjoy the game more and more.
I agree that Space Marine 1 was the better game when it comes to combat and the health system. However, I do enjoy the story, and how the operations tie into story.
That said, you are right in that the 'WOW' factor from Space Marine 2 primarily comes from the visuals, rather than the gameplay like in SM1.
More at 11.
99.9% of the human experience is subjective.
The biggest issue is the health system, simply changing the health system back to what it was in SM1, would compensate for all the other issues in the game.
Also SM2 needs a balance pass with some of its weapons, most of them are WAY to weak.
What can I say, I played Space Marine 1 too and I don't agree, this is giving me far more hours of entertainment.
♥♥♥♥ off trying drum up more drama.
SM2 is crap and you wnna know why?!
WHERE THE HELL IS MY LEGION OF THE DAMN! GIVE IT TO ME.
Not at all, watch the Claysthetics video at the end of my post, he also mentioned the issues and he is a great analyst when it comes to video games.
that's kind of what i was thinking all the time playing it. Animations in SM 2 are weird. The Character is much easier to control in SM1 due to having a dadicated button for stun, so you can control your combos with melee weapons more easily. The animations make more sense in SM 1- the basic example is the attack from the sprint/charge: in SM 1 it was always a shoulder bash raming the orks down like damn truck. It looked great, was usefull and fast. In SM 2, depending on the weapon you have some loooong animations, during which enemies either shower you with bullets or melee. The thunderhammer was especially disappointing in that regard.... Feels like an artificial difficuly.
Also SM 1 was actualy well optimized and looked good enough for it's time whilst SM 2 is an actual 30 fps-fest for a NASA computer.
