Why must it always be Cadians?
Okay I get that since Cadia was destroyed the Cadian regiments have somehow begun inducting other soldiers into their regiment from other planets. But Major Sarkaana clearly is not even remotely close to what you would expect from Cadians, nevermind the skin color (sure whatever she was taken from another planet) her accent isnt even remotely close to the vaguely British accent cadians are supposed to have (You would think that if you were raised in a cadian regiment you would have adopted their accent).

Just makes me think Sarkaana is a weird way to get "representation" into the game, like they had a checklist of what had to be in the game that looked something like "Must have characters that are none white, have different accents, and are women" and then said "alright well just shove all of those traits into the first major side character".

To be clear I am not saying this is a bad thing, more of a utterly pointless thing. 40k races aren't even remotely similar to IRL ones and superficial similarities are meaningless. People in 40k could be purple and it would be fine.

But that being said, how about instead you include ANY OTHER GUARD REGIMENT OTHER THEN CADIANS FOR THE THREE HUNDRED TRILLIONTH TIME. There has not been a SINGLE piece of media (other then books) I have seen that shows ANY other regiment other then cadians unless you count skin packs in dawn of war 2 and darktide. You want a vaguely Arabic girl in your game? How about some Tallarans? Or just make one up who cares, just swap the color on their armor and skin and maybe add one or two embellishments, then have your voice actors do a different acent. You get representation to appeal to the stupid twitter crowd, and actual 40k fans can see a different guard regiment for once, win win.

Maybe I am just sick of Cadians being generic imperial guard for the last 30 years when they are supposed to be a special more elite unit

Check yourself.
you know Cadia was an entire planet right and had literally every ethnicity under the sun on it as the premier assignment post for overachievers.

Same for the Ultramarines.

They are the faces of the series so they keep appearing.

Would prefer Black Templar and Krieg tbqh.

Accent. Why has not a single cadian ever spoken even remotely similarly to here ever? Why does every single cadian under her command not share the same accent if they are some theoretical never seen before sub group of cadians? All cadians are supposed to be at least partially raised in cadian regiments, thats part of their whole training thing "born soldiers" etc. So accent would have to match

They're the baseline and the only ones relevant to any main story arch to whatever GW has at the current moment. None of the others barring Krieg and Catachan have models that aren't old as dust so GW wouldn't want anyone using them outside of books.

If we are being honest no that's not really how it's ever worked for several decades everyone in the universe was 27 flavors of British, followed by begrudgingly having various planets all be a singular ethnicity.(still canon to this day to have say a planet almost entirely made of clones :admech: )

That's the thing with franchise this old you might not like all the lore for example the Daemonculaba is still a thing.

That said all I miss is Cadian's having purple eyes from warp exposure that was so cool, we still had it for awhile with troop and commanders from actual Cadia but now they are just "random guardsmen number 525" and not in the fun Death Korps way.

The two plastic armies I own are painted Cadian and Ultramarines, so I can't complain too much. However yes, I'd like to see other chapters and regiments. As far and the Major and who she is; meh. Her character is basically "hard-nosed serious military commander", exactly what you expect for a Cadian; all in all its proper, and coulda been done much worse.

I don't think they really put too much thought into the accents, they just wanted to spice things up a bit rather than everybody having the usual vaguely English default everybody uses in both sci-fi and fantasy media. Like Captain Acheran having a Scottish accent.

same reason it's often the ultramarines. they are the posterboys.

other than that, cadians just look like soldiers, all the other main guard regiments would just look out of place.

There is no cadian accent

DT has six cadian accents
SM1 had two cadian accents
DoW2 had four cadian accents

the only constant is purple eyeballs and the urge to overachieve on any task

You're an idiot.

Same reason it's always Ultra Marines - PLOT ARMOR.

They are all white and they all have very clearly British accents. Frankly I am suprised you managed to find your keyboard considering you are both blind and deaf
I like how you cherry picked and avoided all the DT accents which are clearly not white nor posh north london, meanwhile the rest are manchester, cockney, south london and even straight up carribean and two are northwestern United States.

Not only are you an idiot, you're also a racist.

Cadia is a planet not a country.

Found this on another post, it's not entirely accurate but it's close enough. He's not exactly lying that the vast majority of these are British. The Psykers are a big exception to this, and just like the Psyker in Rogue Trader getting a Jamaican accent this seems to be specifically to make them sound like exotic outsiders to distinguish them. GW are obviously a British company too which is why they have always envisioned most accents as British, plus it helps our country has a ludicrously large number of distinct accents.
