What edition should I buy??
I'm not really interested in skins but I don't want to miss out on content.

The base one. Game doesn't have enough content to justify it's base asking price let alone the price I paid for Gold.

It is enough to buy the standard version. The Gold Edition just has more skin colors, and after purchasing it, you need to replay and win in only 6 PVE maps to unlock the color, which is very boring and takes a lot of time. The Gold Edition color can also be unlocked for free by cheaters who purchase the Standard Edition. The Ultimate Edition is just only one skin for only one class. If you want to unlock content by playing PvP, you need to face a large number of cheating players, and there is no reporting function in the game, which is simply no gaming experience. So it's hard to accumulate wins to unlock content. All of this is premised on your PC configuration being high enough. My PC configuration is well above the 2k requirement, but I'm still having a lot of issues. If you're a PlayStation player, you'll have more problems. I pre-purchased the Ultimate Edition, but the game isn't worth the price.

Dont buy any. This is the worse multiplayer experience ive ever had. I played since early access and only managed to get into 10 games.

How do they cheat? Asking seriously

I've been having a blast with my buddies, probably base.

From what they've said and I can tell all content drops will be free. PVE and PVP. The season pass only gets you cosmetics. So base version should be plenty.

base game is better for you then. the gold edition just have season pass which will give you access to unlock skins. all future content like maps and new enemies and such is free to all versions

I would wait on ALL editions until the next major patch to see if the existing game breakers are fixed.

I would not buy anytrhing with season pass or future content promise because the gameplay does not currently seem to be representative of a game that will have a long lifespan.

Later in September on patch day, the value of each edition may be made clearer.

The base edition. Everything else is cosmetic.

And also not worth the money because for some people the game doesn't even run properly (or at all!)

I've been playing since full launch and I only had 1 issue getting into a MP game and that was on day 1 of the full launch. Sounds like a you issue there, bub.

@OP
Just by the base version. If you don't care much for the pvp/coop then the campaign is about 6-10 hours long depending on the difficulty you play at(the devs recommend hard, which takes most people around 8 hours). No sense buying the season pass until the content it promises actually comes out imo.

It's not a long game but it truly is a spectacle. The visual feast alone is amazing imo. I don't know how blind you're going into the game as so I don't' wanna describe anything. This game actually has pre-rendered cutscenes though, which is something I haven't seen in a game in a while at this point.

I mean, it runs fine on medium settings on my 980ti (with only a minimum of stutters in cutscenes) but yeah, I am slightly disappointed I didn't spend more time looking at the season pass stuff before dropping the extra cash. Cash SM1 was a better game, and I don't think I'll spend much time playing SM2 in MP to justify the season pass and special edition.
