Why tf is the 3rd trial for tactical borderline impossible compared to ALL THE OTHER TRIALS???

The lictor one? whats so hard about it?
Furia Sep 11, 2024 @ 2:04pm
good to know others are easier. lol. I did tactical 1st and was frustrated.

you zoom in and HS the bugs on the platform right away while going up the right ramp. maybe a 1 or 2 more from the 2nd group if you missed some HS.

I got 2~3 gun strike in on the licker before taking it down.

Mostly the headshot requirement but also the lictor is rarely invisible so is hard to scan it to REVEAL it also.

You dont need to scan it, it helps, but you just have to get used to parrying, came easier to me i guess since i mained bulwark, but thats pretty much mandatory skill at substantial+

Headshots, i dunno, just have to do it/

Yeah cool you're elite whatever. Nothing to do with git gud at parrying mate you have a pathetically small amount of time to do it in.

Either way you can tell they haven't playtested some of the trials AT ALL.

It took me a few goes, ran out of time a few time waiting for the lictor to stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around invisible and attack me.

A purple tactical can kill it in one cycle, atleast it isn't bugged like sniper atm

Does it let you choose your weapons? For me it just forces a loadout on me.

The only trial I had trouble with was the second Vanguard one. The enemies kept kiting backwards wasting time and I kept missing it by like 1 or 2 seconds.

FWIW I found the first one to be difficult, the second one near impossible and the third relatively easy, so I'm pretty sure the approach you take matters a lot. The Lictor is easy to kill solo in the allotted time (just parry his huge window attack, melee twice and do a gun strike, he can only survive this two times). Thus my strategy was to rush in, headshot all the Termagaunts on the balcony with the auto bolter, turn the other way wipe the Hormagaunts flanking, and I'm ready to 1v1. Even if you get hit by the Lictor's initial attack and end up having to do the QTE you still have time, you just have to hope he goes invisible quickly enough that you can get an Auspex Scan in and still kill him in time.

Yeah I've found cheesing it is often the way with some of them. Like you're supposed to travel across the map or use x gun? Better to stay still and use your pistol or some ♥♥♥♥. I did get it eventually.
