Heavy class seems to be pretty bad at high difficulties
Even when the class is high level the weapons still struggle to kill even small enemies. Especially the heavy bolter.

Isn't heavy supposed to be sort of "crowd control" class and not "kill one and run or die because rest of the 30 enemies are chasing you" class ?

you are obviously not using melta, which is the most op and best weapon in the game, can easily solo ruthless with it

The game just needs to be balanced. Heavy is kinda useless and no more better than the regular assault classes with machine guns and I would argue even a little worse since they don't have a melee weapon so if you run out of ammo you are kinda screwed.

Melta is pretty OP and I did use it but the problem is that most enemies are far away and thus I find myself often switching to the heavy bolter due to most people not bothering to shoot the enemy in the distance and the pistol just scratches them.

I guess you could say that yeah. At least heavy has the infinite stomp which could be useful but like that's going to help much when the enemy becomes tanky as hell at high difficulty.

Reducing range damage snd making them irrelevant, nah.

lol, no other class can do same dmg and same kills as heavy with melta

use melta clean up the packs for the heavier hitters. your job is essentially just keep the other guys from getting swarmed and interrrupt the big guys calling for backup. that being said the other two weapons are essentially just mastery fodder as is due to either lack of damage capabilities or ammunition limitations. they could easily fix this by allowing the heavy bolter to have better passthrough or have the plasma do way more aoe damage.

All classes are good except of assault maybe

use your shield tatically to mitigate distance damage while closing the gap between. also tatically use cover to mitigate incoming ranged while the shield is down.

Skill issue.

I dont get out killed using Heavy with melta... It clear cuts everything if you have the ammo to let it sing. It smacks so good Im afraid theyre gonna nerf it.

Most classes are good at higher difficulty if you have good players that communicate. Assault is the only one that is a black sheep. I was told even that tactician wasnt good, but yesterday I had the best team ever with me Bulwark, a sniper and a tactician, and we got like 10 purples together clearing substancial mission like they were almost easy (I was suprised)

We were all on voice though. Its about communication and other ppl doing their jobs. Tactician auspex scan is really good for dmg boost, also make the lictors not being able to cloak themselves

I'm always glad when there is a heavy in my team.. because that means I can properly focus on high value targets.

Do the people who say 'just use melta' not realise they are strengthening the criticisms of other ranged weaponry by saying that?
Look, I am by no means great at games like this but the ruthless is hard threads always has me concerned.

The only class I feel struggles really on ruthless is assault. When I see threads like sniper or vanguard or heavy are bad at ruthless it really makes me wonder what the hell they are doing.

I mean, its challenging but I wouldnt call it hard by any means...

Well Melta's advantage isn't that its powerful, its that its a useful close range weapon on a class that lacks melee.

So the multi melta, is the one weapon you can use as a heavy, even if you have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ brothers that don't help keep larger melee enemies off you.

If your using bolter or plasma, then your more reliant on team support. Its really hard to do your job of horde clearing, when you have multiple larger melee specialized units (warrior trios definitely main culprit here) swarming you and your fellow brothers (who are more melee capable) are simply nowhere to be found.

So its mostly a matter of melta simply being easier to use, when the teamwork synergy is all but non existent.

Shh don’t reveal the secret, we don’t want them to start nerfing stuff like Helldivers 2.
