It's the only thing that works when you have a faulty card, 7000 series is plagued with issues.
You should of course RMA the card and hope they send you a better one.
Driver issue or engine issue.
They released a beta driver for the game but only went from permacrash to less often sadly
Reinstall drivers, maybe disable some of that peripheral bloatware (Razer synapse, Logitech hub etc) while playing.
Force run the game's .exe with admin privileges
Known Issues
Intermittent driver timeout or application crash while playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. We recommend users experiencing this issue to install our new driver, available HERE [www.amd.com]
I'm using a 7900 and why I have been holding off on this version until AMD formally releases it through the automated updater.
I'm CPU limited, the GPU isn't tested, SM2 is basically CPU limited for everyone. What are you basing your statement on?
This actually seems to have worked for me. At least on a mission I was constantly crashing at specific points I was able to play through the whole mission. I also have graphic settings to low as I was previously testing that to see if it helped. I'm worried about turning that back up since it seems to be working now though. It takes too long to get to the points I know I crashed at to test easily.
CPU: Ryzen 9 7950X3D
GPU: RX 7900 XTX
I "solved" this issue by lowering all video settings.
Yet, this is not the sollution that we're expecting, so let's wait (sadly).
AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.8.1 (08/23/2024)
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: RX 7600 XT
I tried lowering everything and a few fixes and it mostly didn't work. I just put everything to HIGH and restored my previous settings, so it's not a hardware problem.
I found that if you go to your Steam Library, right click on Space Marine 2 > Properties > General > Launch Options > ( write : -dx 11 ) and that should give you just enough time to skip the cutscene so you can enter the game and play. I don't know if it will crash more but at least you can enter the game without losing progress. Hope this works for you!
I have a good PC with an older CPU but with a current GPU... X470 gaming + ddr4 3600 + RX7900 xtx /R53600x.
I lowered from 4k to 2k. It improved, but today it froze again in the first campaign...
In the story it had already frozen two or three times.
It would be good to know if there are freezes and crashes in this game with Nvidia GPUs...
This reminds me of problems that appear with overclocked RAM memory... Testing work is needed...
It is not simply a CPU bottleneck, as there are people with super powerful CPUs up there reporting freezes... Good luck.
Had some crashers playing with 4k textures last week before boosting fan speeds a little.
Try removing 4k texture pack and disabling zero rpm. If it's already disabled/not a thing on 7600 just increase fun curve 5-10% at each step.
Game is CPU limited but VERY memory hungry and fan speed are only attached to GPU temperature. That mean that memory might not be cooled enough because GPU itself is chill so fan speed is low, while VRAM at full load. Removing 4k reduces CPU load on unpacking and transferring textures allowing GPU to work more and trigger higher fan speeds and/or directly reduce memory utilisation and temperature.
