Apothecary, a medic makes you more comfortable well you die, an Apothecary makes the Chapter Master more comfortable after you die.

You get a drill that can go through a Ceramite chest plate and perform delicate surgery on the other side called a Narthecium.

Also does the same thing to a Tyranid skull if you want it too, plus you don't so much abandon your brothers you just decided who can be stabilized so they can be brought home and retire.

And by "retire" I mean put grandpa in a giant suit of armor packing giant weapons that is woken up every few decades to give advice or purge heretics or often give advice well purging heretics.
