Single player is decent on normal. Teammate AI is literal crap and any higher than normal you're gonna have a hard time. If you can get some pals to play this with you, you're gonna enjoy it.
- Some technical issues, game makes CPU run INSANELY hot, even high-end.
- Combat feels odd until you get into it (then it honestly has a good flow)
- PvE missions are a bit lacking (only 6 now), can't say how good they are as I'm waiting for my pal so we can finish campaign and then head into PvE.
Having said that it feels like they've already patched out a few bugs (team mates now use finishers on mini bosses so they don't res) so I'm hopeful it'll get better.
There is matchmaking allowing random players to join your game.
If someone's not into melee though, they can always play heavy lol. Heavy gets a heavy machine gun/heavy plasma/heavy melta and no melee weapon.
I thought I'd be wayy more into guns, but the melee is sooooo ****ing nice.
The campaign is much easier and can definitely be done alone. In my opinion, the campaign has the highest replay value if you're not that interested in progression, especially as a 40K fan. There are very nice things to discover during the campaign, especially the last part surprised me.
But I have to be honest, the combat system is complete crap in my opinion. It feels like you're playing three or more different games or genres, but none of them really work 100% as they should in this title, and that becomes more and more obvious the more you play, especially on higher difficulty levels.
At some point it feels like a half-finished patchwork quilt. I think they tried a lot and ended up throwing everything together in the hope that people would somehow get through it and believe it was really meant to be. Luckily for the developers, there are also enough "we defend everything, no matter how bad it is" bobs who actually do that xD
