Who all here is new to 40k?
My friends and I started playing this because of our love of 40k but I've seen a lot of people say that this is their first 40k experience. Who all is new?

Also if you are, feel free to add me if you want to play or learn a bit about the setting.

I started collecting orks in February after dipping my toes in first with Warhammer III Total War. I've just been listening to audio books and the like while working and its been a blast thus far, This game being as good as it was hyped to be (in my opinion) has just been the icing on the cake.

I'm new to 40K and it's so cool seeing where all your favorite games got their references from...the Zergs, the "everybody thicc AF" vibe from Gears of War. Doom Eternal's Sci-fi Gothic levels

Yeah 40k def got references from them, considering that 40k first came out in 1987...

As a newcomer I think the space marine armor looks really cheesball... But I completely love what they have had to go through to become space marines... it's awesome world building, but then you see the armor and it looks so curvy and ... just dumb.

That's honestly fair. Space marines have never really been my favorite faction, on the tabletop and in most games I prefer to play xenos

I just loved the depths that humanity sank to for survival... those weird robot guys, those little baby things with wings... It's so creepy and just so fing cool.

I probably need to watch a 10 hour lore video or read a few of the books to get the whole picture, but it's so very neat so far.

The whole backstory for the imperium can be succinctly summed up poorly as: Talk to your kids guys.

Yes that's what I meant. I'm late to the source material and it's trippy seeing how the franchises I grew up with sampled different parts of Warhammer.

Oh I see what you mean, I apologize, misread what you said. That being said, there is certainly a lot of source material to 40k but it isn't really necessary to understand it
