I Stand with Female Adeptus Custodes

Female Adeptus Custodes are cool. And calm down people. If you have actually watched The Tithe, you will see the obvious build up that they are potential future protagonist. I have a feeling they will start the next Heresy. A Second Heresy is coming!

I, for one, cannot wait to see more of their lore fleshed out.

I think the problem is more that they are being force in to the 40k universe and when ask for where they been they give the now infamous "They always been female Custodes" line
which is not the smartest move by GW.

They were known as a brotherhood hence some of the titles being the Brotherhood of Demigods or the Golden Brotherhood.
Adding to lore is great and most people tend to let it slide after awhile even if they disagree with it like when the Primaris were added, I loved there design but many people hated them at the time but now 80% of space marine armies are Primaris and not firstborn,

but let's address the Female Adeptus Custodes/Astartes problem
Can they work? Yes
geneseed could be altered to allow females in to Astartes/Custodes rank but it would have to be 1 woman to 5 males due to How the geneseed works.

Could they have been introduced better? yes
as each Chapter is required to tithe 5% of its gene-seed away to Mars to be checked for genetic purity, and you think the Adeptus Mechanicus is not going to mess with that ?

but TLDR

Female Adeptus Custodes/Astartes can work just don't force them in where there has been no evidence of them, Make them a new thing in the universe.

The custodes arent made with geneseeds. They ARENT space marines, they were custom designed by the emperor himself and from birth, a custodes is custom tailored at a cellular level. Unless you want to speculate they have the emperors geneseed? Which, afaik, is just a space marine myth to justify how superior the custodes are.

They are not space marine? well fair enough that does make my point about the gene-seed moot
i did check the wiki and "They are to the Space Marines as the Emperor is to His primarchs," which is saying they are like Space Marines but are not Space Marines that would explain why i though they were,

I genuinely don't understand why people have a problem with females custodes and mainly see them of some sort of diversity agenda.

It was established that space marines, the Adeptus Astartes, can't be female, because women won't survive the genetic modification. - remind yourself, that these are mass-produced soldiers, with a "one-fits-all" technology.

The Adeptus Custodes however, are not mass-produced, but hand-picked elites. This means, they could most definitely use a different method to generically modify/engineer them, meaning it's completely plausible to have it work on women as well.
Heck, there's even a lore-rumour that they are created by the Emperor himself....

Don't see how people have a problem to see this as a complete neutral addition to the catalogue of fighters for the Emperor.

It´s about, how you introduce such things.

Remember the Introduction of the Primaris?
No build up or hints whatsoever in any Novel, Codex etc. and then suddenly out of nowhere we were told that hundreds of thousands of them were held in Stasis for 10000 years?

And no one thinks to unleash them when Cadia was about to fall or during the War of the Beast, an Ork Waagh strong enough to potentially destroy the Imperium or the Invasion of the Tyranids in general?

And for a while,(before they dialed it back) Primaris were portrayed as vastly superior to Firstborn because screw your Firstborn Army, buy the new ones.

And here we are again. No hints, no build up whatsoever.

This is what most people miss entirely. They are not interested in waiting for anything official or some story to be developed. They want female Custodes to always have been and still am, regardless of how many ??? it would bring to the surface. Lore be damned in that case...this new wish / demand is what matters.

It does not help either that a large % of these people are just trolling to be a thorn in the side of the hobby and to cause trouble. You very very seldom find anyone willing to talk about it, but instead you get the usual snarky remarks and patting on the head / i´m gonna get this done no matter what.

Female Custodes would serve the same purpose of the males, I don't see why I should be outraged by it. It's not like they would be exempt from being genetically modified into super solders.

Since 1987, the lore has been in writing, and certain aspects are still not even fully explained or ironed out. If they want to alter / add something like female Custodes, by all means get in line. As long as it´s handled as everything else and is embedded properly when it´s number in line comes up, go ahead.
