You named 2 difficulty levels.
sounds like your playing them under leveled which is why your having issues.
If your playing with a fencing weapon and not a block weapon hordes and elites die very quickly in like 2 parries and maybe a few hits. Fencing weapons make most of the melee a joke since they destroy what ever your fighting. The highest tier elites do that quit a few hits they might as well be mini boss. But once again a fencing weapon makes them all clowns. Most of the time I see ranged classes carrying with 15k damage or more. They far out damage everyone else.
Thats why they give you two guns. If your buddies are taking ammo from you idk why they didn't just switch weapons and only prioritize ranged threats. Ranged classes should be the only one constantly shooting. All the perks of being leveled and picking the right weapons and perks make the content feel pretty smooth. I was only speaking about the Substantial threat which is one of the ones you mentioned.
I'm not playing on ruthless because despite having early access to the game my characters are not ready for it. There is leveling and perk building to test before I walk into end game level content. Which it sounds like you did.
So no, im not lying. I'm playing the game smart and the way they intended. Substantial threat is not hard by any means. I wouldn't walk in there at level one with white weapons and bad game mechanics though.
There's plenty of high level play available online.
Roll-slop and melta spam just doesn't look - or play - that impressive.
This isn't an E-Sport. These discussions shouldn't even be happening. This is just a casual co-op where you get to be a Space Marine for a few hours.
The game doesn't have any mechanics though.
You have a dodge and parry, and three flavors of QTEs.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by all of the excellent melee-orientated games that have released over the last decade?
