Bots and Bosses
Just in case folks were not aware.. Bots do almost 0 or just straight 0 damage to most bosses. Tested this out on Ruthless Inferno private match. Near the first hill you can get a boss to spawn quite often... Nuerothrope and Carnifex are big two.. with a lot of the attacks you can just hide behind the bridge/wall terrain.. especially the Carnifex.. So I did.. I let the bots go to town and watched the enemy health blink but not really move. If it did move I couldnt really see it. Did this for several mins.. then I just let myself die as I was out of ammo and didnt want to wait for NT to ground itself and let myself die. Did similar to the Carnifex but I actually tried to fight it but alas I was not good enough to kill it with melee alone. Anyway.. get to the screen with damage stats and it looked like my heavy bolter bot was doing amazing with over 8k damage and the other bot doing like 2k but its very obvious that was not the case. Also why in the emperors name does the NT not take extra damage from melee?? When you get the rare opportunity to ground pound it, it really should be taking extra damage especially from a Bulwark who can only hit it on the ground when out of ammo and double especially if your not going to let bots do damage.

Except the bots are doing damage. They aren't doing any damage to the boss but they definitely do damage the rest of the time.

I'm guessing they made it so the bots do next to no damage vs bosses because then you could just cheese the boss by letting the bots kill it.

I know for a fact that bots are doing damage because I see them leave warriors ready to be finished all the time. You can even occasionally catch them doing a finisher if you leave the last enemy for them to finish.

As I said against bosses ergo Terminus level enemies. Yes they do damage against minoris and majoris and extremis level enemies.. but against Terminus where there is a health bar and on Ruthless (thats where I practice mastering my class) it does not appear they do real damage.. the get credit for damage but either the enemy immediately heals it or its just "fake" damage.

They don`t do dmg to bosses and if you get unlucky and get double zoanthrope... well... it takes really long, because they don`t switch targets... so yeah... i use them as "Rezzbots" and Thrash killers in Inferno, works pretty well. Just rolling to the end of the level while grabing the Armor Data and than rolling in Circles till the bots did the job....

Currently I solo Ruthless for the training aspect of it.. Get used to pounding on mobs for days and then when I play co-op the game feels like easymode for progression. I made this post more for letting other players know that bots not damaging bosses/terminus level enemies is happening and less about complaining about it.. Though Nuerothropes not take extra ground damage from a Bulwark is something I am unhappy about. Thats a balance thing I thing should be changed. And I could also agree.. if all your after is armory data and completing the mission then rolling through is ok. IMHO if your playing solo then its your game and you should play it how you feel you get the most fun out of it.

Its a bug and not intentional. At some points the AI stop firing on enemies, and only resume once they fight in CQB. I have had it happen on enemy waves and with static spawns on Inferno and decapitation. They seem fine on other levels though. My bots are always helping take down hellbrutes and such.

Went and took the time to test what your saying and no.. its not that they are not firing on the bosses.. they absolutely are. Again this is only on Terminus level enemies (Nuerothropes, Carnifexes, and Hive Tyrant that I have tested). They routinely will still damage and even solo kill Extremis level enemies (Zoanthrope, Double Zoanthrope, Lictor, Ravenors..). In fact I actually have an issue with bot snipers taking down Zoanthropes to fast for me to damage or kill them.

This is not at all my experience, I don't know what game you are playing. I keep running into the situation where double zoanthropes spawn, and I have zero ammo and I'm playing Bulwark. I'll run around the entire area searching for ammo, hoping I missed a crate somewhere but there's nothing. The bots will be shooting the un-shielded zoanthrope, and you can see the bullets hitting and blood coming from the enemy, but the zoanthrope never goes down. I stand there for minutes, watching them switch between unshielded zoanthropes but neither ever dies and I can't do anything because I can't shoot them. It's so frustrating. I just have to wait until I eventually die because I cannot do ANYTHING.

There is one thing you can do and that is run to the next checkpoint where there should be an ammo cache. Its not fun and to me that is something the devs should fix but it is something you can do. I havent found an area where I couldnt just run through it when I am with bots (with exception of zones where there are tasks/times you have to complete or wait to proceed.. but as far as I can tell all those have ammo caches).

The name of the thread is literally, "Bots and BOSSES." He talks exclusively about bots doing damage to bosses. Doing damage to other mobs wasn't even in question.
