That alone shows, that the Bolt Sniper and Las Fusil need to be reworked to give both their individual purpose without making the other redundant.
For example increase the charge up time on the Las Fusil since it´s already superior in raw firepower and piercing value. That way the Bolt Sniper has an advantage in landing faster follow up shots and makes it a bit more forgiving on a miss.
The bolt sniper rifle can interrupt reinforcements faster than the las fusil, and if you're in melee with majoris enemies, it can be used at point blank more effectively after a gunstrike. Easy, instant executions if you're melee fighting. Besides that, it's probably the most awkward sniper weapon due to inconvenient breakpoints and being just as unwieldy as the more powerful las fusil.
The stalker bolter's the comfiest sniper weapon due to not needing to be scoped in for maximum accuracy. Its TTK is nothing to sneeze at if you're consistent with headshots. It's actually about comparable to the bolt sniper and possibly faster in some situations due to not being hampered by a scope. It still interrupts reinforcements with just 2 shots, comparable to the las fusil, but does it faster and more reliably.
The marksman carbine is a funny weapon but by no means terrible. It being semi-auto and having a large ammo pool can mean you can sit there proccing your camo cloak for a very, very long time while abusing the camo damage boost. You can solo entire heavy waves by yourself with just the ammo pool on this gun, for minimal risk and probably taking no damage the entire while, if you know how to weave in as many camo cloaks while being as efficient as possible. It definitely has a niche for that style of play because it does it best.
The regular carbine is a meme weapon.
Just a fyi the Stalker Bolt Rifle has the same range as the las fusil and bolt sniper just not as powerful of a zoom through the scope. It's pretty dead on even at range.
Well the bolt sniper does get more rounds and getting ammo back every shot just more ammo if you hit more targets. Las fusil can hitting packs, but bolt sniper because of Reloaded Restoration could could return more ammo giving you the ability to regen all your ammo on minoris packs. So that's a plus?
Personally, I can´t see myself using the Marksman carbine on a regular basis.
It feels like a discount Stalker for me.
That´s actually a good point since the Las Fusil can only regain 1 shot when killing more than 1 enemy, so each miss hurts more I guess.
But still a best gun for sniper no doubt.
I wish bolt sniper have far more powerful than this. Give it no penetration and absolute power that make Range Majoris envy and cry to their Hive Mind for eternity.
- There is a delay before it shoots.
- Projectile radius causes terrain to eat your shots, even stuff like those hanging chains and vines. The las fusile does not penetrate these terrain features and if any part of the fusile shot touches one of these vines the whole shot is blocked. Same is true for the demons with shields but most of us sniper mains learned to aim high in those situations.
I just got my bolt sniper rifle up to purple quality and I can say it's one of the worst weapons I've used in the game on any class. The stalker is far preferable.
That actually happen to me today. Kept shooting a tyranid sniping and thinking why is it not dying here. Then I slowed down and actually paid attention. Yep sure enough the rounds were getting stopped by this branch that was poking out just enough to block it.
I can't tell how much I cry when I able to stop reinforcement and my shot got block. By a vine, branch or tiny poke of the rock and put my teammate in danger. Still, I can't go back to other rifle now. It's just too good ; w ;
I think if Bolt Sniper had a lot more ammo than it currently does it might be a good alternate. LF, really deadly but low ammo, Bolt Sniper lot of ammo, but not as deadly might work out.
What also hurts it´s performance (and not only him) is his weapon perk tree.
Two 25% better hipfire accuracy for a fully flegded Sniper rifle, with low magazine and ammo reserves and being wholly reliant on his headshot multiplier doesn´t make sence.
Ya really, I mean are there really people hip firing that thing? Seems like out of place perks.
