Can't get past the intro cinematic

I've tried everything the thread on most common issues said to try in order to get the past the intro cinematic but to no avail! Does anyone know how to get it to work?

The video always freezes a few seconds into the cinematic while the audio continues to play.

Yeah, that was a pretty common problem.

Did you download the game to an SSD? Because thats essential.

For me, turning my graphics down helped. Not sure what specs you are working with, but if you haven't already, it could help.

Move the game to SSD.

Most people getting stuck on the intro cinematic installed the game to an HDD. The game requires an SSD to play.

My specs are pretty old but should be able to run the game according to Can I Run It.

Had a friend with a similar issue, I think you can also pause/skip the intro cinematic by pressing/holding enter

I also have SM2 installed on a second old machine with a HDD and 1050ti gpu, can still load in and play fine on lowest settings, so it may just be the cutscene is too beefy

Yeah, that may be the case. Unfortunately I also tried the skip solution but couldn't get that to work either. I'll try it on my SSD and see if that works. Just have to clear up space. It's not very big.
