please revert the color changes.
many colors look much, much worse after the changes to make them more "lore friendly." corvus black and abaddon black for example are so shiny and reflective now that it interferes with most color schemes and it looks really bad. the blood ravens and space wolves for example both have some glaring issues that make them look worse than they did before.

Switching the blood ravens main colour to Khorne Red helps.

yeah but it doesn't fix the pauldron colors being super whack. iron hands black is better but there's still so much glare that it washes out the emblem. it's also funny that we have to use a color named after Khorne to make our loyalist chapter look right now, lol.

yeah, some of the colors are a lot worse. I hate the gloss they used for abbadon and switch to Eshin Grey, and Iron Hand Steel,

One I am sad about is Maphiston Red on Decals, it was a nice dark Red before color changes, but now, I think it lost something? Along with Death Guard Green, Wraithbone, and Lothern Blue. When used on decals, they became super matted that they sorta don't reflect Light.

Hope that is a bug, because that was a really good dark red.

Yeah it makes some of the decals look like they're 2D images that are poorly photoshopped onto them

so it's like real, both of these colors are satin, not matte

Hard agree.
Nuln Oil is supposed to be ultra glossy, and it's not anymore.
Blacks overall are very lacking, its very hard to have a true deep black.

And, funilly enough, whites also got totally messed up with that patch.
Ushabti Bone was a very nice bony color, now its just white. Wraithbone was a slightly grey white. Now its white. So many colors looks the same now, and they can't even use the excuse that they made them look like the GW paint, as that's not the case, they looked closer to the paints before.

And speaking of gloss, they really, REALLY need to do something about what is gloss and what is matte or satin.

Edit: Oh yeah, and can we PLEASE get a unified colors for decals and main colors?
No, I don't want abadon black decals to look ULTRA glossy, I want it to look exactly like the main color.

I agree because these are base colors and they are very flat, It is better to use Dark Reaper or Incubi Darknes, they are more dark blue but they look better

the issue is that the game has the preset "official" chapter color schemes that use these. i already have my custom slots used up and don't want to get rid of them. it was nice to be able to pick the default color preset and have it look good, but you can't do that now.

in general they should give the possibility to give two colors one as base and the other as highlight and then the reflections would be in a different color. The whole thing would look much better, or completely give up the colors from the citadel and just make a slider and player change the saturation

2024 still using static dye modules in videogames with limitless range of flexibility from color, specular, normals, etc... truly an infinite virtual paradise. Takes me back to armored core on the ps1. Is it really the precedent to limit player's creative freedoms in modern gaming to exert a faux sense of progression and grind? It's fortunate we're even able to customize our big metal guys in a game that barely made it to the shelves. Sabre has put a lot of work into the game, but they have a record of falling short in the *game design* aspect of their releases and miss the point of what makes games fun and addicting, despite having a totally serviceable experience and a decent product. When I saw IGN's 7/10, I wrote it off as another out-of-touch gamejourno rushing out a score on a flavor of the month title, that was assumed to fade into obscurity quickly, but the more I play this game I've begun to realize--they are right. It's clear they did not expect the break out success of their game, and it is rightfully due, however the post-release support does not mirror the scale of that success. It simply was not the precedence at the time. We all want to see the game flourish, however I've checked myself several times as a fan of space marine 1. The game will fall off after a few months, and I hope I'm wrong, perhaps it will make it to year two. But at the current rate of it's updates, I foresee the devs cobbling together updates for a shadow of their former audience after they've moved onto newer games. The hardcore fans will dawdle of course. I wont blame them if they drop support and put all their focus on SM3, but SM2 leaves a lot to be desired for the gamer that is sticking around to play it, like myself.

While we are at it, can we ask for more custom slots?
Why are we limited to only 4 for no reason? Let us have as many as we want!

The more I think about the color system, the more I find problems.

Why do we have different Main, Secundary, Tericiary and Decals colors?
Why do the same color look very different depending on which type it is?
Why all colors (which a handful of exceptions) are suddenly turned into metalics when they are put into Terciary type?
Why are all the decals completely different than the rest of the colors?

I feel like Saber should do a massive uniformisation and cleaning pass on that.

Let us chose if the color is Matte, Satin, Gloss or Metalic and have all the types use the same colors.
