Assault perk "Death Strike"

Need some help clearing up the info on this perk since its a range weapon but the bonus seems a bit board.

After killing a major - increase damage by 25% for 5 seconds. Is this all damage for both melee and range, or just range?

And does it trigger on both melee and range, or just on a range kill.

yes i could test this my self. but im logging off for the night. Thank you.

Can't answer the last question cuz I'm not sure but I believe its only ranged damage. Someone can come correct me if I'm wrong as me being wrong is a very real possibility and I don't want to act like it isn't lol.

Because it's a weapon perk, so it gives that weapon 25% more dmg. Otherwise it would tell it gives 25% all weapons (including melee), at least I think so.

The general rule of thumb is the perk of a weapon, only work for that weapon.

This is the assumption I always operated under lol

It’s 25% damage from the gun after a melee kill

At first I wasn't sure either.

But after I take that "healing 5% after 10 kills while under 30%" perk and me smashing enough mobs to regain jump pack change doesn't heal me.

I just take the hint.

Yeah that's the point.
Killing with other weapon doesn't trigger the weapon perk.

Which tell the once noob me that weapon perk only work on themselves.

Thank you all, I'll give it a whirl when I get home from work.

Appreciate the answers.
