Auto Bolt Rifle Is actually pretty good...at sustain..
Contested health gain might be better than the heavy bolt rifle when under heavy ranged fire. Allowing fire while moving to close the gap towards the ranged backline without dropping dead due to being stripped naked of armor.. I have to test which one is best at sustained trading with ranged enemies...

Also, you actually heal so much from marked enemies..

Not as much as the Heavy's heavy bolter sustain but it's good enough to sustain me while standing on poison barbs, shot at by spines, and getting wailed on by minoris...It's like a "brawling" type gun, kind of what I wish the bolt carbine was...

Again, just like the heavy bolter of the heavy, it benefits very much from a bulwark in the team with contested health duration and contested health banner..

That is because you are outputting more damage.

Makes me wish the Tactical had his own means of cooldown reduction..

If you end up in this situation, I don't think any sustain will help you brother.

As for the auto bolt riffle... I don't know the only advantage it has over the heavy bolt riffle is a better rate of fire... so sure, it will do a bit more burst damage so you'll get a bit more sustain... but it's just not good enough to justify ever taking it over the heavy bolt riffle.

To be really worth taking they would need to seriously increase its ammo economy by giving it way more ammo cap and a faster reload, THEN it may be worth looking into.

It got me out of a spicy situation actually allowed me to bast my way out long enough for the sniper in the team to pick off the barb launchers and snipers. I stood my ground while our Vanguard was lying incapacitated on my feet. I replenished ammo multiple times during the massive wave event I think I actually ended up full.

Get the Gathalamor Crusade, it has the best balance of Firepower and accuracy.
Get all the perks at the bottom including the ammo perk at tier 3 and the accuracy perk at tier 4, Ignore the very last perk (damage against nyds) and instead pick the penetration perk at tier 4.
Don't forget to get the third skill on your tactical tree (the kraken penetration round) and Emperor vengeance at tier 3.

With that you have a weapon with decent damage good accuracy, VERY good horde clearing potential thanks to the high penetration you've stacked up, and solide ammo efficiency.

You aint going to win shootout against groups of majoris, but you aren't supposed to anyway, but this weapon will do good enough damage against the odd lone warrior in the back that you really want to take out, it will easily shut up sentries calling for aid and be decent against zoanthrops.

Im all for off-meta weapons. I dont even touch the disgusting grenade launcher and also ask my friends to not use it. Completed Lethal with all weapons on Tactical except Melta.

Having said that, I can say firmly that auto bolt and heavy bolt rifle both suck ass. They have insanely bad ammo economy. One enraged majoris means you need to unload 1,5 clips on them. WTF?? They are all right at killing horde I guess but not even good at that tbh, in terms of ammo spent to achieve it.

They need to buff these weapons HS multiplier or massively buff it's ammo mechanics.

Ohh, so you got hard carried by your team mates? (half kidding)

lmao I'd stop playing with a guy who told me what weapons I needed to use in order to play with him.

Most of the bolt weapons need a buff. Pretty much pea shooters atm bar the nade launcher and Heavy bolter. Hell heavy bolt pistol is better then 97% of all tact weapons including the stalker bolter.

For first part, yeah I got carried while using auto and heavy bolt rifles. No joke xD

Second part, bro the GL variants is straight busted. It kills the fun fun your teammates too as it trivializes Lethal difficulty. It deletes bosses, majoris and hordes all without effort and with no drawbacks. Nothing in this game even comes close. It also has infinite ammo.
