What do you mean you can easily stagger shooting enemies. Running dash attacks, heavy hits, bulwark shield slam works great for that. Are you saying it isn't working for you?
Dunno why, but lately after the patch, enemies got a lot more resilience to stagger damage.
Done a solo run on diff 3 on the new map with bulwark, mainly with power fist, but with chain sword too, and all majoris didnt seem to get staggered or give some sort of feedback hitting them,
Felt a lot like trying to punch a wall just to have it falling off alltogheter in a single moment.
My issue is that light attacks don’t affect the ranged enemy’s ranged attack. It doesn’t need to stagger them, but a “twitch”, an interrupt to their ranged attack is in order. Forcing melee should be a thing, being shotgunned while you’re pounding an enemy shouldn’t be.
So on Lethal you’ll charge the ranged mobs as a melee class and start hitting them but unless it’s a slow, charged attack, sometimes the mob will just “meh” shoot you in the face. On Lethal that’s death.
Any hit should interrupt their ranged attack and force them to melee immediately.
I never had the problem whenplaying tactical with a chainsword, but as an assault with thunder hammer I keep getting blasted in the face.
It looks like the enemy don't register the fact that they are engaged in melee with that weapon.
Exactly right.
Ranged Majoris are not swapping to melee. So now, the Majoris that shoot a volley of ten projectiles now hit you with all ten of those projectiles since you're at point blank range.
After you've beat on them long enough, ranged Majoris will eventually switch to one round of blue parryable attacks, but then go right back to shooting you point blank if your gun strikes weren't enough to kill them.
The vast majority of my post-4.0 deaths have been trying to melee Tyranid ranged Majoris at point blank. Particularly the mob discussed above... the sniper is easy to time a dodge, but the ones that shoot a volley of projectiles can be instant death.
