The PVP would be absolutely dead if there was any sorta of stupid cs-go like ranked matchmaking as there aren't enough players for that, and besides its casual PVP.
you just need to get to level 4, that's like 4-5 matches at most. Note that its *veterancy* level that you need not class level, so you can play with any class and you will unlock weapons for all of them.
Only thing you're working towards in pvp is the Fusil for one shot head kills (which are largely trash since lag is terrible in this game) and the Tactical Plasma who's single non-charged fire is insane. The stun grenade is the only thing you need that you don't start with.
a team of level 1's that stick together will obliterate a team of 25's playing far apart. PVP is about grouping and numbers superiority.
But yea, in the long run and in 6v6 scenario skill and minimum teamwork >>>>>>>>> weapons.
I semi enjoyed the Melta before the Dodge roll nerf. Pop cover > Melta > roll behind cover >repeat. The range is just so low that the bolter outshines it in almost every case.
The Plasma is meh. Any player with half a brain can step aside from a plasma shot since the arc is slow and highly visible.
