What´s the point of the Occulus Bolt Carbine?

I´ve reached Artificer grade with it, yet I still can´t see what role does it fulfill.

The Instigator offers surprisngly good mid range capabilities and even at close range it´s not a bad choice.

The Melta makes short work with Minoris and keeps Majoris at bay by staggering them.
Bolt Pistol and Combat Knife/ Chainsword for anything up close and personal.

The Occulus does not have the range, precision and firerate of the Instigator nor the Stoppingpower of the Melta.
The Perktree suggest it may be intended as a Boss killer since it has two 10% extra damage against Terminus enemies. But the weapon stats and performance so far kinda make me heavily doubt that.

Am I missing something?

It's pretty pointless. I'm not sure many people use it.

So it has no standout feature like the Bolt Sniper and Auto Bolt Rifle?

Having tortoured myself to get all the weapons to gold I can say that there are 3 that I absolutly hated every minute of and most often I just ignored them and used pistol/melee. Those 3 are, Occulus, Carbine and the standard Auto Bolter, they have no redeming qualities, the bolt pistol is better than them at all levels >.> .
