Please explain Bulwark
So Bulwark is my last to 25 in Operations and one thing I've noticed is a tendency to do some kind of weird parry animation that pops a little white cloud looking affect that gets me knocked back when trying to parry a regular attack like when on any other class than Heavy. It seems to have something to do with his block stance as opposed to perfect parry but I'm not sure.

I don't fundamentally understand the block stance and its affects/effects yet cause Bulwark is a class I've shyed away from. What is this weird blocking effect? How can I time my parries right on Bulwark(I'm a hotshot on all other classes, parries are easy especially when you already know the attack animations)? The parries feel fundamentally different here, is it cause I'm used to parry spamming? Please advise.

So, when you parry late, like towards the end of the parry window(not sure of actual numbers) instead of getting a perfect parry, you instead block and get knocked back but you still get a gunstrike. This is not just for Bulwark, it happens on every single weapon, in fact you will be able to observe this easier if you use a balanced weapon.
Bulwark even with a fencing weapon seems start the perfect parry window earlier, I've observed this since the launch of the game, where pressing parry/block button earlier would give the Bulwark a perfect parry but for other classes, they would finish their animation and get hit. It's a very small difference but your muscle memory will kick in and you'll probably forget about it and remember ocassionally when you mess it up.

TL/DR: Parry earlier for bulwark, at the start of the blue circle. For the rest you can wait a bit for the blue circle attack.

Well, first you can't hold on a button,or you will hold block.habe to single tap it quick. Secondly his parry start with him moving a shield to the left blocking then he carry out his right arm with a sword to do a Parry swinging up from under the shield so all you have to do is press parry earlier than on other classes and let him finish he movement with his sword a lot of people just cancel the parry or press it again making it a shield block swing again.

Or just imagine that a Parry window is when your sword is in front of you and to the end of raising it up

Okay so what you're saying is when using parry I'm beginning an animation that has a parry affect and after the swing up is done then the parry animation ends and hitting it too early ends the animation and leaves me open for counter?

I'd guess from this that the weird blocking animation/being hit is me being frantic and trying to double parry button or triple to make sure i hit it on time like I do other classes.

You time your parries right by minimizing the time your finger is on the parry button. Just tap the button. If you hold it for a microsecond longer than a tap, it will be a block instead and yucky things will happen.

Yes, it probably has everything to do with your muscle memory gained from mashing or holding parry on other classes. It might take a while, but get used to just tapping the button and I promise it's not so bad.

You can also play Bulwark very effectively by ignoring the fact you can block entirely. The only block you really need is the passive one from sprinting forward for approaching annoying ranged enemies. You will obliterate everything within 5 meters of you by just spamming perfect parries. In my opinion, the shield bash is mostly a waste of time as well.

Exactly just be patienthis parry is long but just trust it he got longest parry window if you dont cancel it by mashing xD Problem is you miss parry and end up blocking other classes would be hit and took damage for missing parry but bulwark blocks then parry so if you took it on a shield it means you missed the parry.

Another good tip is his flag gives you 100% contested health so you can time it well before execute to fully heal.

Also try his special attack with a power sword.
After any light attack, pause for a second and let him take a fancy stance with sword behind his back. When sword flashes blue with power. Tao attack again and he will do a spin to smash aoe combo attack.
I'm guessing the blue explosion is guard break when blocking certain attacks. Gotta perfect parry or get guard broken on those. Like the ranged Nids' double claw lunge.

Okay so y'all are right the blue cloud is guard break when the block happens before the parry

They are talking about regular attacks.
