Chain sword assault build.
Been more fun than i thought it would be, going for low radius slam but extra damage and faster recharge time, that way i can quickly kill majoris easily, and use my high ammo version pistol to pick off the minoris, that and my chain sword stomp with extra range.

I'm not using the double stomp as it does not get the extra range from the other stomp perk as i mostly want it to move a lot of minoris quickly.

I also plan to add the neo-volkite pistol to this build as from what i read, it will be great for clearing out minoris enemies, or hoard clearing.

I tried them all.
What I like about hammer is a stunning slam.
Several times I killed Zoanthropes under the platform just slamming the ground.
As to stomping it is fine, but it is WARHAMMER gaming I adore ))

HI any tips for assault on lethal, I Can survive but I fell that I do not contribute much except stopping reinforcement enemies. As I need to really play safe as a few hits from the warrior shotgun or wrong engage with a chaos marine will cut your hp to 1/2-1/4.

Playing assault feels so dangerous for me as it is really hard to recover HP unlike Bulwark or vanguard?

I don't recommend playing assault on lethal, devs cooking some buffs, right now he is the weakest class in general

Yeah I guess so, besides sniper that I don't like. I like Playing assault but I feel more of a bot in usefulness due to the low damage I can output because I am so scared in going down.

But is really fun when you clutch a revive when you lure away a horde then double jump pack to revive your team mates. (lured them at the third platform in inferno, then Jump pack to the first platform)

I was thinking of really trying chainsword out with it. I love chainsword on other characters. Nice quick swings. Easy to react to any dodges. Much more of a defensive type offense(if that makes sense). You won't be crushing any damage numbers like with thunder hammer, but would be really nice 1 on 1 vs majoris and extremis.

I don't want to sound elitist or do the typical git gud comment, but if you are having low damage output on your assault it is more of a you problem. With thunder hammer your damage numbers should look great compared to anything other than a tactical that does constant grenade launcher attacks.
Use your jumping mobility, gun strike armor regen is your friend, do wide sweeping attacks, and land heavies when openings present themselves.

That's more of a melee problem right now. Your damage would never measure up to any of classes with a ranged primary, especially Sniper and Heavy. It's fine if you can survive and hold your own, but if you really want to contribute damage you gotta run one of the ranged boys.

Oh no, I hope not. Right now to get it to work it takes work. Once you understand the class and get a feel for it you can dominate any engagement with it. The high risk high reward play style of it is part of what makes it so fun and challenging to play.

I don't want it turned into a one button brainless I win class.

The low radius high damage slam + 20% recharge rate is was I personally use and I love it.
You can take out a ranged Nid or Rubric in a single slam + 1 swing, and personally I use Pride in Duty perk, as I find charging midair too dangerous in lethal and the quick damage is great for quickly assasinating 2 problematic mobs.

Been using all 3 weapons with it, and I do find the Chainsword better for fighting ranged majoris mobs due to the the heavy attacks having alot of forward momentum tracking, especially good for Nids since they love to back hop alot.
Though I usually engage ranged mobs with pistol headshots if my slam is on cd, wailing on them in melee and hoping they do a parryable attack can be dangerous if other ranged are still alive.

But Hammer is cooler and seems much better for dealing with minoris and even packs of majoris throwing in a big aoe right before a parry is nice.
And prepping a big charge attack into a spawning Chaos group is very fun.

"Q: Assault is often listed as less powerful than other classes: the jump pack in PVE loses its versatility compared to the one in the campaign.
A: We are still collecting data on this issue to see how we can work on it."

Thanks for the update. Oh man here's hoping they don't blow the class up.
Brothers, I beseech the wisdom of the Techmarines and the foresight of our Chapter Masters that in the forthcoming update, the sacred rites of melee combat be honored. May the Omnissiah bless our blades and hammers with the might they deserve, for there is no greater honor than to meet the alien filth in close quarters, to feel their ichor upon our gauntlets, and to cleanse them from existence with the fury of our revered melee weapons. Let the next patch herald an era where the joy of the melee, the thrill of the charge, and the honor of the blade are magnified, ensuring that every strike is a testament to the Emperor's wrath!

i dont know but when im using a tactical, having an assault with the team perk Proven Efficiency: Increases Gun Strike damage for all squad members by 50% - in combo with tactical perk - while parry attack enemy get auspex scanned - let me feel lethal difficulty easier. I clear multiple time lethal difficulties using an assault or having an assault in team. He struggle against chaos maps but on tyranid maps, he get some sort of problem only while facing snipers warriors while get targetted in the air. btw is a very fun class to play with
