Toxic Marines, amiright?
Seriously, why are some players so insistent that you stay in the lowest difficulty possible if you mess up? How is anyone supposed to learn if you kick anyone who is a level 8 or 9 in a given class just for trying to go to Substantial. Got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at because we failed a Co-Op mission, trying to level up my Bulwark is such a pain on lower difficulties because no one players lower than substantial...

You can create a private lobby and play by yourself or with friends until you get a higher level. Substantial can be farmed solo until you get some levels. Unfortunately, people don't think that a level 8 or 9 can do substantial successfully. I've done lethal runs at lower levels, but don't recommend. Perks help, but really it's just having those weapons at relic level and being good at the game. Personally, i'm not very fond of bringing someone who isn't at least level 15 into a lethal run, where the team really benefits from perks you only get at higher levels.

No. I will not sit there and do lower level missions by myself in a team oriented game. Not expecting to be carried, just want human interaction. Acting like a level 8 or higher character doesn't have serviceable perks until 15 is foolish.

Yeah, can't say what the maw of the internet is going to do on that brah, I've experienced it myself, but I really only get upset when someone tries to bring a level 5 into a lethal run.

If you are level 8, you don't even have a individual perk unlocked.

Every benefit you aren't getting from your perks has to be made up by either your gameplay, or the gameplay of those playing with you. Not expecting to be carried... hah.

You are not entitled to more XP for a completed mission simply because you want it.
You are not entitled to what you think is a larger pool of players playing the higher difficulties just because you want it.

You complain about not being considered good enough for substantial by "others", but you might as well be saying the same ♥♥♥♥ regarding ruthless. Consider why you have chosen to not do ruthless, and recognize those are probably the same reasons you shouldnt be doing substantial at level 8.

You can play solo or go seek out others in your situation via any of the multiple discords for this game.

The problem here isnt toxic marines, its one self absorbed entitled marine who doesnt realize hes asking to be carried when he is doing exactly that,

Level is irrelevant. I could restart from level 1 and still manage Ruthless. All you need is a competent team mate. And level does not guarantee skill or competency.
Yeah, not all players are going to be nice. Just keep looking for another session bro, there are players that wouldn’t mind a lower level player or even underperforming one and will welcome it as additional challenge. Heck, I find it even more fun myself and prefer playing with someone like that instead of copy-paste level 25 meta player like some tactical with GL or heavy with melta. That’s just boring.

... a competent teammate...

IE someone to make up for your shortcomings.

Or in the case of the OP who refuses to go find people willing and able to do that for him... a random person to carry him.

Hey, I'll play with your low level Bulwark on Substantial!
JimmyKaz Nov 3, 2024 @ 10:01pm

If you wish I can carry you through a few ruthless games so you level up faster and practice a bit. Your current level, skill, or performance doesn't matter.

Let me guess.
Green weapon with no banner healing perk and probably not that good at parry?
Then you are pretty useless.

If the host don't mind and carrying you then that's nice of him.
If the host kick you because he can't be bother to do so then it's also his right.

You are never entitled to anyone else time.
Just host the game yourself if you don't want to be kick anymore.
The Game suggests difficulties based on class levels. Nobody has a problem if you’re in that suggested class range. But if you’re lower than the suggested level, it doesn’t matter if you’re „gud“. Most of the time, the first impression would be of a low level who wants to be carried. So there wouldn’t ever be a nice reception.
I have seen Level 25 players who are worse than the bots. I have carried low lever players, who fit in every cliche you think of. I just think of them as annoying bots. I am „gud“ enough to solo most content on substantial. So that works out 9 of 10 times.
On the other hand I have seen very good low level and high level players.
Playing with such a group is almost every time a pleasant experience.

if you cant reliably win every minimal / average operation by urself, you shouldnt come to substantial / ruthless or higher, expecting people to carry you. You wil not learn anything and wont get better by doing this.

It's a common courtesy not to play a difficulty you are underleveled for. Most likely you will not be able to pull your weight and will cripple your team by underperforming.

To some experienced high level players, 1 low level wont make a difference and they might be okay to carry occasionally. But you absolutely cannot expect everybody else to be in the mood to carry a dead weight. I dont kick low levels, but cant really blame anybody who does.

If you willing to go this way, know that you are kinda in the wrong here and dont be upset about kicks,

The right thing for you to do in this case is to start your own substantial operations and let other players join you in the process. Players willing to be a part of it wil stay, others will leave.

Once had a Bulwark cry and send me like 30 angry messages telling me to not play lethal after I accidentily stole his execution banner.
This was after I just picked him up off the floor btw, we were both attacking the same enemy and I was being shot at from all sides.

Shouldn't be playing online if you can't handle people making mistakes here or can't handle helping new players.
I've even carried a few very underleveled players in lethal who shouldn't really be there, never cried about it or attacked them tho, and I still had fun playing with them.

I know it sucks to fail or wipe, but I still have fun just killing stuff along the way, genuinely can't understand the mindset of toxic people that play videogames that make them rage and hurt so much.
What a bunch of weirdo masochists, I can't tell if these traitors worship Khorne, Slaanesh or Nurgle but it's surely one of them.

If you join underleveled its a you problem. Nobody cares how good you are if the others dont want to play with low levels thats their choice.
