with vangaurd i do chainsword, not sure about balanced knife on him since he melees a ton vs sniper, but he does have that parry perk,
im just saying the speed of the balanced knife makes it much better for the sniper, its not like you cant still parry and your sniping the big guys, the balanced knife shreds the little guys and makes a quicker kill on the bigger guys, and feel much better, esp vs chaos where you wont be parrying as much
Chainsword tops knife in every way.
All in all though, it's hard to decide which one is more fun to use. I like 'em both. A 'LOT' more than the laughably inaccurate ranged weapons. The spread on the "precision bolter" is horrible, nine times outta ten, even if I was up against a carnifex, I'd still rather use a knife than a gun.
personally balanced knife on vanguard, i dont use chainsword as i find it a bit boring and hammer or power sword are better on bulwark/assault
i do like 1-2 more attacks more on elites with knife if good scenario.
most of time its 3 attacks before parry
