Worth playing or too short?
Hello, friends, hello!

Is this game, 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2' worth playing, or short on the amount of content currently in the game right now? Is the road ahead filled with more content, such as DLC, expansions, etc? If so, perhaps one should wait until the full release of this much-hyped game.

Also, Helldivers 2 looks overrated, this game looks to be a decent balance.:steamhappy:

Helldivers is a better coop game imho has a good choice of weapons and is fun but thats all it does and can get old fast.
SM2 has an amazing campaign and fun coop and pvp.
if your only getting one I'd suggest SM2 simply because it has everything coop/pvp included.

But if your after a purely coop game then Helldivers or World War Z.

40k is my drug and am gonna die from overdose before i stop consuming it

But for sane person the game is kinda small.
-Short campaign took me 4 hours
-7 operations in PvE mode 20-30 min each, zero replayblity. basically the same every time you launch them
-3 PvP maps

More on the personal side, i have played Helldivers 2, have all achievements there. And Space marines 2 is on another level for me. I don't run from enemies, i don't use bugs or glitches to win, i launch it, take my preferable class, pick op and see red for the next 30 min, absolutely gorgeous

Yipes.

What is the purpose of charging full price for what seems to be mere DLC?

Gameplay is fun
Campaign is short
Pve can keep you occupied enough to feel like you got your moneys worth
I don't play pvp
Lots of technical issues that vary wildly from person to person

I feel it's worth a buy but if you have the will to wait for a sale, bug fixes or more content, do it.

If you evaluate games by the time it takes to complete them, play Ubisoft games!

The campaign is short, but good! And the game has more content in PvP and PvE modes.

It's cinematic and very rare treat for 40k fans. But overall yeah very little for such price. I don't regret buying max edition, but i see why people won't pay so much for so little

If it wasn't 40k i surely wouldn't either

If you want a meatier 40K experience, there's Rogue Trader. That's an RPG though, and turn based.

Darktide isn't completely different either, an FPS game.

However neither have you playing as space bros, which is the main draw. The campaign gets on with it, with little character development. Very pick up and play.

If you like turn based strategy games in 40k
Mechanicus or chaosgate: daemonhunters. One you play as Mechanicus(meh) but your fighting the necrons. Daemonhunters you play as a squad of grey knights fighting mostly death guard.

You're not paying by the hour homie, you're paying for the experience.

Oh right, forgot about them.

Mechanicus has you playing as the Mars Weirdos stirring up the Necrons.

Of course the Grey Knights are super space bros.

It needs way more content for the asking price. The end game is you running the same operations over and over. Same objectives. Same locations. Same dialogue. Helldivers has more replay value imo because the levels are bigger and much different encounters each drop.

Main story is about 10 hours, less if you rush.
