So how do you get mods to work in private matches?
Abandoned the game a week after it came out (like 90%+ of the playebase), but only came back because apparently the devs are angry about mods. I had no idea there even were mods in the first place, so here I am again.

I am reading that even attempting to have a mod on your game automatically shoves you into offline, progressionless lobbies.

How precisely do you go to online but private lobbies? If I'm going to have to carry bots to grind out meaningless "fill the bar" milestones online, it might as well be actual bots and I might as well have fun doing it.

Only way to not get screwed until december at the earliest is to:
1) if you are a modder, ONLY play as a joiner.
2) if you are not a modder, ONLY play as a host.
I will keep that in mind, thanks for the warning
You're welcome!

I'm not up to date on the modding scene as I run vanilla, but yeah. Looking directly at Astartes and there's the optional file with no balance changes. OP seems to also be unaware that private lobbies are different from being offline. Which, isn't really surprising.
Assume a number of things when talking to me, the first of which being I know more than you do. Over a year of dealing with me should have taught you that a hundred times over.

If you have ANY edited file the game automatically loads up in offline mode, which does not allow any progression online. To even play in private lobbies online for the game to catalogue your progression, you need a hacked executable.

Also I want the balance changes and nothing else, which requires the process mentioned above.

Oh noes, a crack triggering a virus scan, surely this is the end of all modding forever.....lol your trolling is sad and if you're actually serious I pity you dude.
Also WHAT save corruption lol?
In the most recent news item, the developers stated that the single reason they are adding official mod support is because the extra maps and cosmetics in aestartes specifically were corrupting the save files of people who didn't have the mod installed but played with randoms who did.

installing aestartes and uninstalling it (redownloading the entire game) without clearing ALL modded items in your loadouts have the same effect.
once again no it doesn't, try reading the instructions next time. Honestly sweetie you should probably stick to consoles if this is seriously getting you into such a state.

the aestartes plague is mentioned by the devs in the news, the aestartes plague also warns on its nexus page to only ever uninstall the mod if you default your loadouts first.

even worse are the dogpiles the (required) discord echo chamber for the aestartes plague pile on you for asking for even slightly more modular or transparent experiences with their mod that knowingly has ruined online to the point the developers are having to step in.
