neo volkite pistol is just bad?
i havent levelled it up yet (halfway through master crafted level) since the xp for weapons is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slow, but it just seems trash? especially compared to the weapons you can use for the classes its available for.

anyone else thinking this or just me?

It's a pistol that lets you fire accurately from the hip... the ideal weapon for a bulwark, you never lose awareness or mobility while using this thing.
Hmm. though i find those points fair. i find that the volkite pistol doesn't do enough damage (currently even with maxed perks) for the window i normally have, to out shine the plasma, It takes a longer window, when i would normally just use it to stop reinforcements calls. that being said ... the long distance for barrels and pin point accuracy is a nice plus even while firing from the hip; is a new sensation i don't get often, but it doesn't fit the main play style of the Bulwark. Assault could benefit more and the Vanguard it fits in their play style very well; as they have more maneuverability then the bulwark and is built for those mid range fighting styles.

for what it is and who its for.. theres no feasible reason to bring it against choices like the heavy bolt pistol or the plas pistol... im not even sure theres a case against a regular bolt pistol. it needs a patch or maybe 2 to buff it properly as of now it doesnt really give you back contested health doesnt really do decent majoris damage or extremis damage let alone terminus damage... even at relic level. its a gunstrike or gtfo weapon and theres still better options for that..

It needs to execute in one explosion from head damage, not two or even three.

It needs a massive buff to be competitive against what’s already available. Massive. The perk tree is very well done (kudos where it’s due), but the damage is absolutely pathetic. I’m actually wondering if someone fatfingered the code and forgot to add a zero somewhere. For a weapon that’s meant to be a relic from the Golden Age of Technology, it’s nothing short of abysmal. I’d go so far as to say it’s offensive to the AdMech.

This would not please The Eternal Machine Spirit.

i think they are laying down the ground work first and keep it low and slowly dial it up later. rather then have it too high and have to nerf it later.
Looks better and they stay away from the "NerF" stigma... that people would complain about, and easier to slowly bump the numbers gradually.

Because 20% is good stat wise. but for only 2 sec's...? those aren't really worth it. again i think its a slow burn being turned up.

I disagree but only because these devs are so damn slow to put out balance patches. Just look at this pathetic patch as examples. Balances to 4 weapons only 2 of which were damage-based.

Fair,
i can see this point , with the overall updates and what has been done so far, and actions do speak louder then words and road maps as we have seen in other games.
This then turns in to "What you have on your plate" as a developer what needs to go through the door VRs what takes the longest. What will get the most traction to keep your players playing.

it will be a balancing act that saber and focus will need to tread carefully. i can see your point but its also a business first and foremost. will have to see what they consider Comparable/Worth while changes with the allotted time; with however many people getting paid for work on said changes; working on what projects and when and for how long too.

Good food for thought though.

I cannot comprehend why these studios don't stick one guy on balance duty and make use of a testing server. (I thought they said they had a test server for us to try upcoming patches and give feedback before they go live?) It cannot be that hard to adjust numbers around, try them out, and send it.

My friend does programming and has made a couple small games and he is able to go in, change some numbers around, and test it out in a matter of minutes. Yes, putting a patch out to live servers take more time but they have not even given us a "We hear you and this is exactly what we have planned" sort of dev blog.

And that is another thing: dev blogs I get they take time to write up but again, that is one guy that just writes up everything from a meeting, it really isn't that hard nor time-consuming.

Their website forums are also a terrible, disorganized mess. They need to go look at Fatshark's forum page for how forum organization should be. I get they are not a super large team, but neither is Arrowhead or Fatshark. Saber is, until proven otherwise, being lazy OR putting their resources into the wrong things. This is basically HD2 balancing fiasco all over again except they didn't magically manifest hundreds of thousands of players in month 1 to then shrink to about 100k, they have about 10-20k average players and that number is about to shrink as players burnout. The volkite was underwhelming so that isn't going to hold players more than a couple days if they don't buff that ASAP. The PvP aspect is being put to the side so that crowd is unhappy. The COSMETIC pack that is paid content was pushed back an entire month for who knows what reason but that will only bring back players that want Dark Angels cosmetics and are willing to pay for it.

The game is in a precarious state as far as player-retention is concerned. They are currently appeasing nobody, not the casuals nor the "hardcore" nor the PvP crowd. Nobody is satisfied with the state of the game.

The released a single weapon for only 3 classes, I do not think this is a good practice moving forward. They should have given each class a new weapon, there are even vokite rifles, cannons, and "carbines" they could have given to the other 3 classes. Yeah that would have needed more dev time but they have not been transparent with what they are spending their time on so as far as I know they have their thumbs up their buts thinking about changes rather than implementing them. Frustration is the name of the game.

It's a bit like the heavy bolter. Sucks until you get it upgraded.

It's even better if you have 3 players using it.

Doesn't really work on majoris very well either, the bulwark has plasma and the assault heavy bolt pistol.

Vanguard is the only class I'd use it on really, as the spud gun is inadequate there.
