This would not please The Eternal Machine Spirit.
Looks better and they stay away from the "NerF" stigma... that people would complain about, and easier to slowly bump the numbers gradually.
Because 20% is good stat wise. but for only 2 sec's...? those aren't really worth it. again i think its a slow burn being turned up.
Fair,
i can see this point , with the overall updates and what has been done so far, and actions do speak louder then words and road maps as we have seen in other games.
This then turns in to "What you have on your plate" as a developer what needs to go through the door VRs what takes the longest. What will get the most traction to keep your players playing.
it will be a balancing act that saber and focus will need to tread carefully. i can see your point but its also a business first and foremost. will have to see what they consider Comparable/Worth while changes with the allotted time; with however many people getting paid for work on said changes; working on what projects and when and for how long too.
Good food for thought though.
My friend does programming and has made a couple small games and he is able to go in, change some numbers around, and test it out in a matter of minutes. Yes, putting a patch out to live servers take more time but they have not even given us a "We hear you and this is exactly what we have planned" sort of dev blog.
And that is another thing: dev blogs I get they take time to write up but again, that is one guy that just writes up everything from a meeting, it really isn't that hard nor time-consuming.
Their website forums are also a terrible, disorganized mess. They need to go look at Fatshark's forum page for how forum organization should be. I get they are not a super large team, but neither is Arrowhead or Fatshark. Saber is, until proven otherwise, being lazy OR putting their resources into the wrong things. This is basically HD2 balancing fiasco all over again except they didn't magically manifest hundreds of thousands of players in month 1 to then shrink to about 100k, they have about 10-20k average players and that number is about to shrink as players burnout. The volkite was underwhelming so that isn't going to hold players more than a couple days if they don't buff that ASAP. The PvP aspect is being put to the side so that crowd is unhappy. The COSMETIC pack that is paid content was pushed back an entire month for who knows what reason but that will only bring back players that want Dark Angels cosmetics and are willing to pay for it.
The game is in a precarious state as far as player-retention is concerned. They are currently appeasing nobody, not the casuals nor the "hardcore" nor the PvP crowd. Nobody is satisfied with the state of the game.
The released a single weapon for only 3 classes, I do not think this is a good practice moving forward. They should have given each class a new weapon, there are even vokite rifles, cannons, and "carbines" they could have given to the other 3 classes. Yeah that would have needed more dev time but they have not been transparent with what they are spending their time on so as far as I know they have their thumbs up their buts thinking about changes rather than implementing them. Frustration is the name of the game.
It's even better if you have 3 players using it.
Doesn't really work on majoris very well either, the bulwark has plasma and the assault heavy bolt pistol.
Vanguard is the only class I'd use it on really, as the spud gun is inadequate there.
