(Guide) How to fix lag, freezes & crashes.
A few steps I personally undertook in order to prevent freezing and crashes from occurring
These steps worked for me, this does not mean it will work for everyone. Just posting it here to help whoever I can.

Before you start optimizing, make sure your game is installed on an SSD.

1. Optimize your power plan
Open Control Panel > Power Options.

Select a high-performance plan, or if you have an AMD CPU, the “AMD Ryzen High Performance” plan.
In Advanced Power Settings, set Minimum Processor State to 80% and Maximum Processor State to 100%.
Also, ensure PCI Express Link State Power Management is turned off.

This worked wonders for me!

2. In-game graphics
The cores in your CPU or certain areas in your GPU might overheat, even though your average temperature is fine. This can cause issues with game performance.
Turn everything to the lowest settings and work your way up, seeing what works and what doesn’t.

3. An obvious one, but update your drivers
This doesn’t just mean your GPU driver—also update your network/ethernet drivers, storage controller drivers, CPU drivers (especially for AMD CPUs), and so on.

4. Virtual memory
If you have low RAM, consider using paging. This frees up your RAM for the more active tasks on hand.

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings. In Performance Settings, go to Advanced > Virtual Memory.
If you have 16GB RAM, set the paging file between 8GB and 16GB.

5. Background applications
Background applications may take up huge amounts of processing power. Open Task Manager when your PC is idle and look at how high the percentage is from startup apps.

To reduce this, you can disable background applications and use a clean boot to see if this solves the issue.
Press Windows + R, type "msconfig," and press Enter.

Go to Services, check Hide all Microsoft Services, and disable anything that isn't essential.
In Task Manager, disable startup programs as needed.
If you don't know what something is, don’t touch it, as it might be something your system needs.

6. Use Process Lasso
Process Lasso has tools that are useful for CPU performance, like setting priorities and features like "ProBalance," "SmartTrim," and "Performance Mode." I won’t go into all these features—feel free to look them up. But using these features boosted performance a ton in my experience.

7. Your disk might be damaged
If your game is installed on an SSD, do a disk check to see if it’s working properly. Open your command prompt as an administrator and type:
chkdsk C: /f

8. Check temperatures
Install something like HWMonitor to keep an eye on hot spots on both your CPU and GPU and monitor their usage and temperatures. Your CPU shouldn't exceed 85°C, and your GPU shouldn't exceed 80°C.

How to improve cooling?
Clean your PC; there might be a lot of dust in your fans. Get a new case with more fans and better airflow, use fresh thermal paste on your CPU, and make sure to use an adequate CPU cooler. Don’t forget to remove any stickers on the cooler base for proper conduction with your CPU.

Hope this works for you! If it doesn't, let me know and I'll try to help if I have the time.
