Bulwark perks.
I was playing with the perk that gives you 25% bonus melee damage after a shield strike, but that perk is kinda bad as the shield strike does not combo, if you block cancel, you can hit faster but it is too easy to accidentally parry.

So on my block weapon build, i decided to use the extra damage reduction when my armor runs out. I also completely changed my build on my power sword, trying to get more synergy with my class perks on my build.

I'm also am still undecided if i want to revive with my banner or use damage reduction on it, as i so rarely end up using it to revive.....

The revive is useless until that one game where your glad you have it. One of those Talents you always regret your choice no matter what.

playing bulwark i go with a lot of the perks that, as i use my abilities or shield they go off, no timers or cool downs. its comes in more handy for me when i can control the area around me and i don't have to wait on a timer.
(Excluding the banner it self obviously.)

*Armour of Contempt Blocking a Ranged Attack damages all around you.
*Armour Reinforcement Non-Finisher Gun Strikes restore armor
*Glory’s Shield All teammates close to the Banner take 10% less DMG
*Focused Strength Shield Bash knocks back enemies
*Invigorating Icon Teammates regain Contested Health when Banner is active
*Advanced Conditioning 50% slower fade of Contested Health
*Armored Advance No loss of control during Heavy Hits and no knock backs if you have armor

This way while I'm running at enemies while my shields being shot at and hit, i have a pulse wave that damages things around me and i can get armor back like no ones business with every gun-strike killing blow or not; and as long as i have armor i cant really be knocked around. Every time i parry i have another Aoe pulse, With the shield i like the knock back usage to open up space to help get more gun strikes and keep my chances for getting my armor up higher and handy.

Fencing works well but you can trade off the speed on balance type weapons if you are good enough with parries or you still trying to get to the high tier weapons. on the purple tier weapons till you get the gold tier ones.

Power fist has a combo perk that if you hit with the back fist and the another punch you also get armor back. Power Sword / Chain Sword can have speed and %+contested health back as a life saver.

If you actively use banner, I think dmg reduction seem to be the best choice. You can drop banner and do cpr if the ground is so hot. Only situation I think it'll need banner revive is when a hell train of spore mine every where, sniper or heavy hitter like extremis are flood the area. Like Ishan said, it work best only when you desperately need it and do absolute nothing else where.
