How long will Space Marine 2 live?
Hello everyone, let's discuss this question, how long will the game live after release? To answer this question, let's take the game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 1. If anything, I have 1800 hours in this game. So the game is almost alive as the Emperor on the golden throne. She is alive due to PVP mode. Until now, many players enter Space Marine 1 every night just for PVP, and many of these players wear a guild tag. I remember when the game was at its peak, there were 8 vs 8 gwg fights every week. I think many guilds will want to remember past times and come to SM2. But what awaits us in SM2, 6 vs 6 fights! The DEVELOPERS are not even funny. The simplest guild in SM1 consisted of at least 15 people.
What conclusion can be drawn, if the developers do not make a separate battle mode for at least 8-10 people, then SM2 will not live long.
Sorry for the mistakes, I worked with a translator.

After testing it, and understanding I was right about all of the takes on it, I say it lives around a week. Then everyone will return to play spacemarine the game, and this retardismarine 2 will be forgotten

Yeah, all 237 players will go back to it.

they said they plan on supporting post launch etc so should do fine

It will be super popular like helldivers 2 and the servers will implode but then it will lose 90% of its playerbase in a month or two.

I'm sure the 5 people still playing that game were devastated.

Six operations imo seems pretty low to me however if you compare it to the first game it has slightly more content at launch and a co-op modes at launch. Can't remember the amounts per side in the first game PvP I just know this second game has less per side but all the first game released with is campaign and PvP.

yeah, lack of maps is a major weakness. tbh I think they made a mistake going the long linear level design for the PvE instead of doing defend a fortress wave defence like in SM1 and WWZ, those linear maps are insanely work intensive and time consuming to make.

I would blame the live service culture that consumed gaming culture, and the woke idiocracy being a cherry on top

I'm hoping they do at least throw in 2-3 wave defense ones. Could even just reuse areas from the campaign and throw in a few models to keep people in the zone

Games in the past: here is tons of content absolutely for free, a 20 hours campaign, a pvp mode, a split screen mode, a pve. we will keep rolling the updates out and this is all free.
Games now: uuuuh...making campaign is too expensive...farting noises

Y'know, most games of this style got nowhere near 20 hours. The highest they got was 12-14 (14 being out of the norm) with minimum being about 8 hours. With average being about 10-11 I believe.

This game is releasing with equitable content to Space Marine 1, containing a decent length campaign, PvE mode, and PvP. Including additional content to be added down the line. Feel free to dislike it all you want, just find some valid criticisms

It all depends on the devs/publishers.

The industry standard has now been established.

New major content every 3 months.

With minor gameplay overhauls every 6 months.

By gameplay overhauls, I do not mean nerf to change meta. I mean improvement on melee combat by adding new styles or combo mechanics. New weapon variants, new movement options, new game modes etc.

I do not mean gimmicky weapons/sets like "the division"

Edit:

The game could be single player with live service and multiplayer elements. Which means the live service part is not the focus and the game could die within a year.

it depends on the possibilities of the engine and the netcode of the game, if thats possible, would be awesome if they add the 8-10 men on one side avaliable option:steamhappy:
