Actually what is a funny fact, It takes LONGER to decrypt and unpack a preloaded game, than it does to download it post launch with gig net.
Wanna hear something pathetic? I live less than 20 miles from where the Space Shuttles were launched (have most of my life), so you'd think this county would be a "technology hub".
Yea... My ISP is "still working on the fiber". Any day now!
Most of the area consists of "country" or "hood" sprinkled in with "new emerging" planned communities areas of overgrowth. It''s actually gotten so bad with apartments being throw up everywhere, I have no clue how the old infrastructure is going to accommodate.the original cities that had space left that they're throwing stuff up in.
And let's just say the famous city where "I Dream of Genie" was filmed is probably the worst in the area... I lived there briefly decades ago and even then it was just an alcoholic, drug infested, low end city. How far ye have fallen.
The USA etc has all their cables on poles in the air, a storm often takes out people internet and can be down for days or weeks. In the UK being the first country to have proper infrastructure and underground cables our entire system is much more expensive and slower to upgrade, but when theres wind your net wont go down.
*grumbles in angry American*
That's better than the business speed I pay extra for. V_V
It literally isn't.
"The average internet speed in the U.S. was 219 Mbps download and 24 Mbps upload as of November 2023, according to Speedtest.net"
You can't say, "well, all the big cities in the US have it". OK, what about the other 90% of the country? And certainly not just say "cities" in general.
Good grief.
I live in one of the biggest tech-hubs of the country (world at one point) and AT&T does not even have the fiber laid here yet! Who was also once upon a time one of the biggest tech in the world.
You are factually wrong. This is not something we can debate, as the numbers are what the numbers are.
From USA Today in January of 2024 (this year)
"The FCC defines “basic” internet speed as between 3 and 8 Mbps, generally considered a slow speed. The average internet speed in the U.S. was 219 Mbps download and 24 Mbps upload as of November 2023, according to Speedtest.net." - Link: https://www.usatoday.com/tech/internet/what-is-a-good-internet-speed/
I live in New York City. New York State's fastest internet provider is Verizon, which averages 750MBS. Verizon is also (often) the most expensive provider you can have, and is not available in all areas, as not all areas of the state have fiber yet. So no, we in no way average 1GbpS. You either made that up or got mis-info'd.
Edit: Also you know what is super hilarious? That you made a silly claim and you got called out by two people for being factually wrong. But go on about how "Foreigners are calling other countries s*it" 🤣🤣
