It was "woke" after all
>not my post

"I had my worries based on Saber's public commitment to ESG. After playing through the leak, I'm afraid to report that my fears weren't at all unfounded...
To address the elephant in the room, there are no female space marines physically present anywhere in the game. However, there is ample discussion of them, and it seems like GW is using the game's narrative to open the door to the possibility of women Astartes in the future.
Those of you who finished SM1 know about Inquisitor Drogan's Power Source, which is once again the focus of the plot. Spoiling as little of the sequel as possible, the Ultramarines covet the device for its potential to "open the hidden second gateway of Astartes ascension." Chaos wants the Power Source for the same reason, as whoever controls it also doubles their pool of potential space marine recruits (need I explain further?).

Aside from the above you have your bog standard elements of wokeness found in any game released in the past 5 years. Some highlights are:
• Racial demographics of helmetless Ultramarines match those of San Francisco in 2024.
• All the IG officers and commissars you meet are female.
• On the hive world, you can find a couple dataslate entries (same as servo-skulls from the first game) about two gay lovers who were separated during the Tyranid invasion.
• On the jungle planet, Titus and co. discuss how the AdMech's exploitation of natural resources has devastated the local ecosystem, which somehow kickstarted the initial Tyranid invasion.
• In the central hub, you can find two battle brothers embracing each other while crying. Titus reacts to this with some bs like "showing weakness is the greatest strength."
• A rando guardsman calls the Imperium "fascist" and "regressive" when explaining why Imperial citizens fall to Chaos in front of Titus and 2 other marines. They let him keep his life and later remark on the truthfulness of his words.
Hopefully y'all can make more informed decisions given this info."

Someone already respond to that.
Also - where are proofs of this? Any screenshoots or something?

How is that a problem exactly? Can gay people not exist in the 42nd millenium? or can they exist but they cannot be mentioned because then you lot start crying?

This was from a thread on r/kotakuinaction that wasn't verified or backed by anything tangible (screenshots, videos, etc.) and has since then been deleted by the mods accordingly. Nothing to go up in arms here, by all accounts this was a fake.

If you could just be held accountable for your words.... all this would stop.... and the internet would be great again.

Make the Internet Great again! (yes, this is parody, and ♥♥♥♥ who wrote this)

I don't think anyone with overly delicate sensibilities should be playing 40k games.

I'm going to have lots of fun playing SM2.

Regardless of how right or wrong OP is, isn't homosexuality grounds for servitor conversion? Cuz being gay in the Imperium implies that the person in question is refusing to produce offspring who would later be drafted in the Astra Militarum, work a manufactorum or if fate allows it, have their child become an Astartes aspirant.

A million worlds do things differently but a person in the imperium is worth less than a bullet. So you don't see many worlds hung up on cranking out babies for the war machine.

The Death Korps of Krieg just use clones. Humans in general breed like rats. Look at the hive worlds.

You're overestimating how much the Imperium cares about any single person on an Imperial world. As long as a planet is paying its tithes and isn't playing host to any funny Chaos or Xenos business, most people aren't under so much direct control in their day-to-day. It's usually the workload required to pay those tithes that gets you.

I mean, considering how one's commute to work often involves dodging gunfire between rival gangs and potentially returning fire because you enjoy not dying, and the unsafe working conditions in your average Imperial manufactorum, I imagine a lot of sex would have to be had in order to ensure a stable population that's constantly dying to everyday civilian life within the Imperium of Man.

Yeah but humans tend to do that on their own without needing to be egged on or threatened. Gay people existing has never been an existential threat to population levels.

i mean game being woke is great news and all that but unsurprisingly these ain't very good points ithink.
- first 3 points are just nothing, they are worth nothing.
- ecosystem thing is interesting, if tyranids did have intelligence about system going the way or mars they would be interested in that planet, as on the long run that is lost biomass to them right ?
- i don't see how sm2 could have crying space marines, it just does not seem possible to me, but if it does happen i will literally drink water for by mistake.
- i can see the last thing as half true to some extend, there could be guardsman yelling all sorts of truthful things about imperium but i don't see them surviving that in presence of space marines or even high ranking ig officers. or perhaps its dying guardsman cursing the futility of fighting chaos or something which causes the crew to fail leadership test.
