Primaris vs Firstborn Marines - Which are cooler?
Overall, what do you guys think is cooler? Do you prefer the aesthetics of the firstborn over primaris or vice versa? Give me your opinions!

Primaris marines remind me of the LGBTQ+ flag so it's Firstborn for me.

Primaris, because they are bigger and stronger and that much closer to a Primarch.

Most importantly a bunch of cringe whiners will now see I said this and be angry about it because they live sad lives.
Primaris might be bigger and stronger but they had heavy casualties at the start of the new crusade due to being bigger and stronger not winning battles. The Firstborn had experience which counted for more. As for the models well not even GW calls many units by "Primaris" now. There used to be a thing like "Primaris Intercessors" but now its just Intercessors. The whole thing about being bigger and stronger has mostly been sidelined and the new models always were to add truescale rather than a bigger and stronger Astartes. After all even Firstborn have the same wounds now as "Primaris". Their Bolt guns still suck more compared to Bolt rifles though although you can always proxy them as the new versions.

I think both are cool but I will always be a Firstborn Andy.

Primaris Armor except for the helmet and First Born weapons.

Screw those stupid cylinders on all their weapons, and those ugly frontgrip's on top of some of the weapons.

Also tankthreads > hovertracks. What are we, Eldar?
Thunder Warriors / Legio Cataegis

I saw a leak of customization. Doesn't seem like there's Firstborn anything. Its all the new stuff. I saw no beaky helms, no normal Firstborne helmets. All Primaris.
Primaris look cooler, but the lore of, "They're Space Marines but better in every way!" is kind of lame. I assume the idea was GW can't trademark 'Space Marine', because it's too generic, but they can trademark Primaris. And sell new models, of course.
It's a good look, I like the Primaris models, but the Primaris themselves aren't that interesting.

Myself, i feel like the scowl helmets are way too iconic to the point of being the Space Marines' faction identity. The Corvus helmets were less popular sure, but I also felt like that they were too good of an addition to 40K's aesthetics to drop entirely. Heck, what are the Orks gonna call Space Marines if they no longer wear the beakie helmets?

Sounds like the perfect time to bring out a new ork unit that wears hockey mask so they can call them 'OCKIES!" or somethin. But I feel the same, and if I remember right the recent sternguard veteran kit actually came with a scowl helmet. I kitbashed a few onto my marines and they just feel right at home.

Spahce Mareens! They say that over and over in the first game.
Every time more Orks show up: "Spahce Mareen! It'z da Spahce Mareens! Yous gonna die, Spahce Mareens!" Orks get top marks in correctly identifying Space Marines, even without helmets.

In other 40K media, they're often referred to as Beakies in reference to the Corvus helmet, though Relic Entertainment's "orky nickname" for Space Marine is "tin can 'umie"
I grew up with and painted Minimarines.. but honestly the Primaris look cooler and are just the right size finally..

think the firstborn look better overall and have had more time to mature. There seems to be more variation with their armors, I love the heresy era stuff specifically. Primaris for some reason seem more uniform and have less flare that older first borns wearing mk7 would've had on a chapter by chapter basis

That's because Primaris armor is too sleek and efficient-looking. Imperial designs shine best when there is at least one or two clearly subpar or inefficient elements to them. In the case of firstborn armor, the exposed stomach and snarling face grille are two iconic elements. But GW wants to modernize Marines and turn them into iPhone stormtroopers.
^What is an iPhone stormtrooper?
