Is Space Marine 2 going to be worth the hype?
By looking at the game play footage this game looks promising but there is a few issues i like to address with the footage we already have online there is a lot of lacking in the customisation at launch by the looks of it.

There is very little info on the missions are we going to fight on procedurally generated maps like in Helldivers or are we going to be doing the same missions the same boss fights on the same selection maps over and over?

Also coop campaign?

You have the main campaign giving you a main path and you have the co-op missions which expand on each campaign chapter? that's what I understood, you also have lots of things to unlock and difficulty settings, I'd say a model similar to Darktide, but in Darktide you have no main campaign, just cutscenes as you level.

Dunno, but I will say the more I see of it the more I think it is GOTY material.

Look at the developers track record. After that, look at the publishers track record. Doesn't look great.

You made me look at the Studio track record, they partnered with CD Projekt Red for the Witcher, they created their own 3D engine which is a feat very few studios have accomplished, thank you for making me look this up, it fills me with more confident, I even gave you Steam points for it ;-)
In 2010, Saber was approached by Microsoft's 343 Industries to remake Halo: Combat Evolved for the game's tenth anniversary. This would be Saber's first involvement in a major franchise and COO Andrey Iones considered it "an opportunity that we couldn’t miss". To maintain the original game experience, Saber used the original engine for game play and the Saber3D engine for visuals.[11] Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary was released on November 15, 2011, to positive reviews.[12] Saber then assisted in 2014 on the development of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.[13] CD Projekt Red partnered with Saber in 2018 on the Nintendo Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Complete Edition.[16] The port was released on October 15, 2019, to positive reviews highlighting the performance and playability.

TL&DR; Damn, they are good developers.

You've got to realize these companies mostly have 5 maybe 10 % of the original staff. So basing your opinions on things they did 10 years ago is already dated information. Unfortunately companies nowadays do not have the same passion.

Generally speaking yes, but there are always exceptions, I have been a consultant for the same company since 2015, I could move and make more money, but I'm too comfortable, what they do for me and I do for them is very beneficial so I don't feel the need of moving, I'm a backend software developer by the way.

Look at id Software, the company that made DOOM, most of the main devs are still there, I watched a devs interview of this studio and they seemed quite solid.

there will be 6 co-op PVE missions at launch. not proceduraly generated. always the same map, same end level boss or objective.
there will be mini-bosses depending on the difficulty level you're playing on, and from what we heard so far, they might be randomized. so during one play-through you might face a carnifex, on an other you might face a neurothrope.
the replayability value will come from what classes and loadouts you and your friends bring to the operation. there are 6 playable classes to pick from, but you cannot have more than one of each class per mission.

the main campaign is also 3-player co-op. from what I read, there will be 13 story missions, during which you either play Titus or one of his two companions. no classes to pick from, but the game will give you various equipment from to play with that would otherwise belong to one of the 6 classes, during certain sections of the story.
the devs said the campaign will offer roughly 10-12 hours of gameplay.

Well I'm glad, but making an engine doesn't mean you're good at making games, as their game development track record shows they are not the best. I honestly hope this game is good, but I just don't think it will be.

We wont know until we get to play the game. :)

But from everything I've seen I'm excited. :D
