Lack of Heretic Astartes Armour Customization

This is probably the first piece of disappointing news I have heard and seen with Space marine 2.
And thats how I would describe myself. I am not mad, just disappointed by this.

This is the first time I have seen Space Marine 2 take a step back from what Space Marine offered.
Half of what you can play as in Eternal War is now lacking the in-depth customization that the other half has.
This can cause sever issues for player retention.
What if I find that every match I have been joining has me as Heretic Astartes, when I just got new armour unlocks for my Space Marine? Now I am getting uspet, because I cant see it in Eternal War.
What if I find that the large helmets of Thousand Sons is distracting? I cannot change the helmet to remove it.

This is something that can be easily fixed, and should not have been an issue to begin with.
There is no excuse to not have this already be a thing.

As well, because I know "money money money", this would open the pathway for future season passes to allow the change, since everything is about season passes now...

So lets have our voices heard! Lets let them know we want to have proper customization!

If you want to make SM2 better than SM1 they just can't take one of the parts many loved.

Sadly, I do think this is what is going to happen.

With how many companies are right now, it could very well be a case of them having it ready to go, but when the negativity arises, they will say "oh! We are so sorry about this. To make it up to you guys, we will release this stuff in small snippets,"

There is a whole tab in menu for Chaos customization.

Yes. And as showcased in this, its only for skins and emblems.
Not actual armour changing.
Which is the issue.
For instance, if I dont like the Night Lords helmet on the Raptor, from what is stated, I cant change that.

Well, its sad. But I can bet, that if the game will be succesfull, stuff will be added in DLCs. Maybe they wanted to focus more on a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of customization for SMs first.
We still are getting a lot of it.

It's just confirmation to me that pvp almost got cut entirely. They clearly did not plan for chaos to be playable. The rumor there are no chaos skins in the season pass is probably true too. It sucks but I'm more worried about pvp balance now that it's feeling rushed.

Would they be better off not having playable Chaos Space Marines, and instead, just have it be Space Marines vs Space Marines?

correct me if im wrong but does any chaos legion have any known armor patterns? suck for the chaos fans but idk if the chaos legions have different enough armor pieces for em, aside for the general demonic looking spikes and or skulls

its kinda like Halo:Reach, Spartands had the juicy bits and the Elites only had the presets based on ranks

yes the 4 in the base game are example emperors children have different armor etc

There is, and a good reference for this is to pull directly from Space Marine one.

You guys need to chill on the lack of Heretic customization. The fact we're getting a Campaign, Co-Op and PvP in a single game is a breakthrough in modern games. We'll probably get Eternal War later on in future updates just like how World War Z has a Horde Mode.

Oh dont get me wrong.
I am still stoked for the game, and hyped as hell. This news has barely dampened my spirits.
However,
We do have the ability to speak out when we believe something has made a fault. And we do have the ability to speak that perhaps it could be improved upon.

This isn't a doom and gloom situation. Just something that was noticed that could be improved upon.

I'm excited for this game. I hope they do more work on the chaos customization. I say they should of done this for Chaos. Generic Chaos space marine for all classes. Like a black legion looking guy considering it's like that for the models... Then do each class gets a special skin related to the legion. Like the special skins in Space Marine 1.

Then in updates they could add more. Like for example the World Eater Assault, Death Guard tactical, Night Lord sniper, Alpha Legion vanguard, Black Legion Bulwark, etc.

If they don't do it... One things for sure. People talk about adding a chaplain and librarian as future classes. Could work too for PVP. Word Bearer Chaplain and Thousand Sons Librarian.

The current PvP makes me only want to play Bulwark and Heavy because of liking the Death Guard and Iron Warriors.
