They also prefer older types of armor, often MK III or VI. They'll often, but not always, have less Chaos iconography than other legions.
Preferring an older type of armour is not a unique trait. Plenty chapters still run around with beakies for example, liking an older armour isn't unique. Plenty chapters use older armour. And you say they are a little shorter, but that is not in any way whatsoever represented in tabletop or in any miniatures. The only thing that makes them stand out at all is the hazard stripes on silver armour, it's just a colour choice.
A bit bigger due to chaos corruption bulking them out a bit, but smaller than primaris normally. All the chaos miniatures atm are based on First Born but scaled up a little bit to be slightly larger, mainly as GW don't like that scale anymore and are trying to get rid of it, but the lore reason for it making sense was chaos corruption generally bulking them out.
First I heard about this but that's kind of cool. For traitors it's just cosmetic, same class loud outs so it's not really the same. The way Tripwire is doing it is more akin to the way hero shooters are designed, not class shooters from what I just saw.
