SM2 has both Tyranids and Chaos, both those factions have more then enough miniatures between them for the devs to base enemy types on. Maybe they will add a third faction later as DLC like Orks or Necrons, but 2 factions will hopefully be enough for now.
From what I saw from the Trailers, I wouldn´t be to surprised that the Thousand Sons are either the secondary Enemy or (much like SM 1) the hidden Mastermind behind the Invasion.
The latter would be boring since the "It was Chaos all along!" trope is kinda eh.
They appear a few times in this trailer for example. Go to 3:54 for good look.

My theory is that the Thousand Sons presence will tie in with Titus' personal story. In the first game and the extended lore it was a major plot point that he has an unnatural resistance to Warp energy and Chaos sorcery that he himself can't explain but is trying to learn the truth of. The Thousand Sons are the personal legion of Tzeentch, the Chaos god of sorcery and arcane knowledge. Probably not a coincidence.
Maybe they seek to either use his "resistance" as a tool for their own gains or they try to recruit him into their own ranks much like Nemeroth tried before.
Speaking of Nemeroth:
Maybe he was able to return despite only being halfway ascended to a Daemon Prince before his "death".
While Nemeroth's forces in the first game were just normal Chaos Undivided troops, he himself was a sorcerer lord. So if he was resurrected by the gods, I could easily see him being "reassigned" to the Thousand Sons.
Sorta like what happened to Eliphas the Inheritor from the Dawn of War series. He was originally a lord in the Word Bearers Legion, died, then was later resurrected and placed in the Black Legion under Abaddon's command. So stuff like that can happen.
Ah yes, Eliphas. Dawn of Wars very own Starscream.
That magnificent smug and bigmouth douchebag, who simply don´t wanna stay dead.
